Horror Camgirl - Ch. 32: A Hidden Affection

“Don’t kneel yet.” True Lord Zhengyang said, “You are not worthy of being my disciple at this moment, and you shouldn’t take on a master so easily. I will observe you and guide you for a while. When I feel you are qualified, then we can discuss taking you as my apprentice.”

I understood that things weren’t that simple and quickly replied, “Yes, rest assured, I will work hard to earn your recognition.”

“Alright, alright, get up quickly. Don’t let others see this,” he said.

“Yes.” I stood up happily, but then he said, “There’s someone behind you.”

I was startled and turned around abruptly to see a tall man.

It was actually Yin Shengyao!

My hair stood on end; he was staring at me coldly, making my scalp tingle.

Suddenly, he took a step forward. I jumped back in fright, and he seemed a bit displeased, saying coldly, “It’s easy to dodge a direct attack, but hard to guard against a hidden one. Be careful.”

After saying that, he turned and left, leaving me bewildered.

I walked out from the backstage, and the middle-aged man who had been possessed stood up with his wife’s support.

He looked around and then focused his gaze on me, saying, “Young lady, was it you who saved me?”

I smiled and replied, “Sir, you’re fine now. When you get home, eat more mutton stew with radish to replenish your energy.”

He nodded and said, “Young lady, my name is Xue Fan. Take this; if you need anything in the future, feel free to come to me at the Gemini Star Building. In Beijiang District, I still have some influence.”

I looked at what he gave me, a badge made of silver, engraved with the head of a tiger.

“Thank you.” I didn’t take it too seriously until I came out of the appraisal hall, and Tang Mingli said, “This Xue Fan is the boss of Beijiang District in Shan City; he has control over that area, and this silver badge is his token.”

He snorted and added, “But he’s just a local boss, merely a dog under Guo Laoer.”

The venue was in chaos. I told Wei Ran that this Spirit-Collecting Pot was an ominous object and asked him to find a reputable temple to have a master perform a blessing and exorcism.

Wei Ran looked at me with newfound respect, completely trusting in me and my master, and solemnly said, “Madam Yuan, please rest assured, I will handle it properly.”

I thought for a moment and added, “As for today’s matter, I hope Mr. Wei can keep it confidential.”

Though there were many people before, most had fled, so not many saw me casting spells. Wei Ran understood and nodded, “Don’t worry; I will handle this. Madam Yuan, I will arrange for someone to take you home.”

Tang Mingli said, “There’s no need; I will take her.”

Wei Ran gave Tang Mingli a meaningful glance. After we exited, we got into the car, and Tang Mingli suddenly pulled out a listening device from under his seat and crushed it forcefully.

I gasped, “What is this…?”

“It was done by Wei Ran,” Tang Mingli said, his expression serious as he drove out of the venue. I suddenly realized, “The Wei Family and your Guo Family are at odds?”

“The Guo Family is just my mother’s maiden family,” Tang Mingli replied. “Two tigers cannot coexist on the same mountain; both families want to fight for dominance in Shan City, so a conflict is inevitable.”

I took a deep breath, “He thought I was close to you, assuming I was from the Guo Family? Does he intend to target me?”

Tang Mingli said solemnly, “Wei Ran is ruthless and decisive in his actions. he is cautious; otherwise, he would have acted sooner.”

I felt a chill; he was wary of my master behind me.

“However,” Tang Mingli continued, “he might still hire someone to deal with you.”

My palms went cold. Was that what Yin Shengyao meant?

I hadn’t expected that saving someone would lead to making an enemy.

Tang Mingli spoke softly, “But you don’t have to worry; I’m here. I will protect you.”

My heart skipped a beat, and my face turned red, but fortunately, I was wearing a mask, so he couldn’t see it.

When we arrived at my home, I suddenly asked, “Mr. Tang, are you free tonight?”

He looked at me with surprise, and I immediately realized I had misspoken, quickly adding, “I just wanted to invite you up for a visit…”

That didn’t seem right either.

I was so anxious I grabbed my hair. He suddenly laughed, reached out, and ruffled my hair affectionately, saying, “I have plenty of time; you can do whatever you want.”

I was left speechless.

He couldn’t possibly mean what I thought he did.

As I went upstairs, I felt embarrassed, especially when I encountered Aunt Li, our neighbor, whose gaze kept darting between me and Tang Mingli, her expression one of shock.

I stammered, “This is my distant cousin.”

The more I explained, the worse it sounded.

Forget it; she wouldn’t believe it anyway.

I opened the door, let him sit in the living room, and then hurried into the bedroom. After a while, I said, “Mr. Tang, everything is ready. Please come in.”

Tang Mingli smiled slightly and walked straight in.

The air was thick with the scent of herbs, and he paused, staring at the wooden tub in front of him.

“What is this?” he asked.

“This is a Body Refining Medicinal Bath,” I explained. “It can strengthen the muscles and bones, enhancing physical abilities; it’s most beneficial for martial artists like you.”

He looked delighted, suddenly grabbing my hand and saying, “Jun Yao, thank you.”

I felt a bit flushed in the face.

He loosened his clothing and stepped into the medicinal bath, his bare body gliding smoothly into the water. I turned my head, unable to look, but ultimately couldn’t help sneaking a glance at his back.

His figure was perfect, like that of a deity.

He had even more composure than Wei Ran, soaking for a full four hours without uttering a word. After emerging from the water, he looked invigorated and excited, putting on sportswear to practice his punches. Each strike generated a small sonic boom.

“This body-refining medicinal bath is truly a remarkable thing,” he exclaimed. “After soaking, my physical body feels much stronger. It’s a pity I don’t specialize in external training; otherwise, the effect would be even better. Plus, after so many years of practice, I’ve accumulated some hidden injuries, and they’ve improved significantly.”

He looked at me happily and asked, “Jun Yao, would you be willing to share the formula for this medicinal bath?”

I shook my head, saying, “This was given to me by someone else, and I can’t just pass it on. Besides, I’m the only one who can successfully prepare this medicinal bath.”

My hands trembled slightly; would he want to imprison me like Wei Ran?

His face fell with disappointment. “Jun Yao, remember, you must not tell anyone about this, okay?”

I nodded, regretting my earlier decision regarding Wei Ran.

“From now on, you should come every three days to soak in the medicinal bath,” I suggested.

A faint smile appeared on his lips as he stepped closer. I could feel his breath. “Jun Yao, why are you so good to me?”

My face turned red again, and I cleared my throat awkwardly to cover my embarrassment. “You’re my partner and my employer. If something were to happen to you during a live broadcast, how could I face your family?”

“Is that really all there is to it?” He leaned down, getting very close to me, and I could smell a faint herbal fragrance from him.

I felt like a startled rabbit, jumping back a step. “Of course! What else would it be?”

He showed a smirk of satisfaction. “I understand your feelings.”

I was exasperated. What feelings? What did he really understand?

“Come on, let me take you for breakfast.” He pulled me out the door without allowing any objections.

Wait, your hair is still wet; people will misunderstand!

Tang Mingli was quite domineering, shoving me into the car and driving straight to a high-end Chinese restaurant.

This restaurant specialized in breakfast, serving a spread of shengjianbao (pan-fried buns), sauce-flavored pancakes, cucumber and egg pancakes, shiitake mushroom and beef dumplings, and a savory porridge with assorted vegetables and lean meat, all beautifully arranged on the table.

I had never had such a lavish breakfast before. In the past, when I worked, mornings were especially rushed, and sometimes I didn’t eat at all, or I would just grab a couple of fried dough sticks from the street.

“Don’t be polite with me,” Tang Mingli said. “Eat as much as you want, and if it’s not enough, order more.”

Having just refined his body, his appetite had increased, and I was also quite hungry. We devoured the entire table of food in no time.

“Who is this? Eating breakfast like a beggar?”

I looked up to see a young man, arms around a stunning woman. She was curvaceous and alluring, a captivating beauty.

Both of them had a spring-like glow on their faces, suggesting they had just spent an intimate night together.

When I ate, I would take off my mask, and as I looked up, our eyes met directly.
