Horror Camgirl - Ch. 35: I Like Smart Women

Xiao Lin's eyes, hidden behind a mask, narrowed slightly, his gaze sharp as a blade.

Huang Yue felt a chill run down his back and suddenly pushed him away, turning to run, with the other two boys fleeing as well.

After running frantically for a long time, the White T-shirt Boy gasped, “I can’t go on! Seriously, what are we running for? Huang Yue’s dad is Huang Qiuhua, but we’re not related to him!”

The skinny boy with him said, “But you’re Huang Yue’s friend; you’re his accomplice.”

The White T-shirt Boy looked at him in confusion, only to realize his face appeared pale in the dim moonlight.

“You…” The White T-shirt Boy hesitated, “Wait, what’s your name? I can’t remember it.”

He racked his brain for a long time but couldn't recall this boy’s name or when he had met him.

A creeping sense of terror climbed up his spine, and he trembled: “Are you…?”

At this moment, I intended to chase after them, but Xiao Lin pulled me back, frowning, and said, “I think that skinny boy in the checked shirt looks a bit familiar.”

He lowered his head, pondering for a moment, and suddenly exclaimed, “I remember! He’s Brother Ding!”

“Brother Ding?”

Xiao Lin explained, “Brother Ding was a worker at the Chemical Plant. He had just graduated from middle school and started working there; he died that night.”

A chill ran through my heart: “So… he’s a ghost?”

At that moment, Huang Yue, holding a flashlight and a blueprint, squeezed into a room.

This was the old Research Laboratory, filled with some broken desks and chairs. He rummaged through them frantically, mumbling, “I have to make that old man understand I’m not some useless coward.”

Suddenly, he felt something soft in the cabinet, and frightened, he quickly withdrew his hand, trembling as he opened the cabinet door. The White T-shirt Boy was curled up inside, his body twisted grotesquely, staring blankly with lifeless, rolling eyes—he had been dead for a long time.

“A’han!” He trembled all over, nearly collapsing, and jumped up, running out in a panic.

He ran around the factory, but found himself back in the laboratory again.

“Ghost Wall! It must be the Ghost Wall!” He looked around in terror and suddenly felt a tightness around his ankle. Looking down, he saw a pale hand reaching up from the ground, gripping him tightly.

“Ah!” He frantically kicked at the hand but saw that the floor was covered in hands, terrified, he dashed back into the laboratory, slammed the door shut, and collapsed next to a cabinet.

He grasped his hair, crying, “A’han, I just wanted my dad to acknowledge me. I just wanted to prove I’m not worthless.”

Suddenly, A’han reached out and grabbed his arm.

He screamed, jumping up as if he had hit something, and turned to see three figures staring at him intently.

These three people were the ones who had gone missing years ago.

“Ah!”

Tang Mingli and I were following closely behind Xiao Lin, searching for the others in the maze-like factory when we suddenly heard a heart-wrenching scream. We followed the sound toward it.

Arriving in front of the laboratory, Tang Mingli pressed down on my shoulder and said, “Let me go first.”

He cautiously pushed open the door, and with the Wolf-Eye Flashlight illuminating the room, we were shocked to see the White T-shirt Boy, Huang Yue, and Xiao Li curled up in the cabinet, their bones twisted and their faces contorted in horror.

Even though I had seen many corpses, I still felt a bit nauseated.

I pulled out my phone, deciding to call the police first, when I noticed a message flashing on the screen.

Could the materials be hidden in the wall?

I went up and dragged the corpses out, moving the cabinet to closely inspect the wall. Though it was old, its color was different from the surrounding wall.

This section was a later addition!

“Smash this wall,” I said. “The materials we’re looking for should be inside.”

Xiao Lin's eyes brightened. He stepped forward and punched the wall hard, creating a small dent and cracking spiderweb-like lines across its surface.

The one speaking was none other than the “King of Fists.”

I thought to myself, as a member of the Special Department, it wouldn’t do to lack any skills.

Xiao Lin continued to punch the wall; it was two layers thick, and his fists were beginning to draw shallow lines of blood.

Just as Tang Mingli was about to help, Xiao Lin raised a hand to stop him: “I’ll do it myself.”

He wanted to uncover the truth personally, to vindicate his father from wrongful accusations.

Boom!

The wall burst open with a punch, and a foul stench rushed out.

On the other side of the wall lay three corpses, long since turned to skeletons, desperately trying to push through the wall.

They still had their work ID badges pinned to their chests; they were the missing Guang Bo, Cao Yu, and another person.

“Look, there’s a safe here.” I moved one corpse aside, revealing a small safe underneath it.

“Try this key.” Xiao Lin handed me the key we had found in the workshop. Just as I was about to unlock it, several pebbles suddenly flew out from the shadows, shattering our Wolf-Eye Flashlights.

“There’s a master!” Tang Mingli grabbed my shoulder, about to pull me behind him when a shadow darted in, engaging him, forcing him back, then seized me, hoisting the safe onto his shoulder, and quickly dashed into the depths of the Secret Chamber.

There was a locked door there, and next to it was a keypad!

He ripped my phone from my neck, stomped on it, and then punched in a few codes. The metal door swung open rapidly, and he slipped inside.

Just as Tang Mingli was about to catch up, he forcefully pulled the door shut.

With a loud crash, the door sounded as if it had severed the connection between life and death.

I felt a chill all over; who was this man, and what did he want?

Inside the Secret Chamber was utter darkness; I couldn’t see anything, but I could hear the sounds of unlocking. He opened the safe and took out a stack of documents.

“Who are you?” I mustered my courage to ask, “What secrets does this Chemical Plant hold?”

I stood up carefully, feeling around, touching many bottles and jars—all filled with chemical experiment supplies.

My heart raced with possibilities; could it be that someone was making drugs here back then?

No, that doesn’t add up; making drugs openly in the Chemical Plant would require the entire place to be in on it, or else it would be impossible to hide.

Could it be… that there was some secret research happening here back then?

The man put away the documents from the safe and began rummaging around the Secret Chamber. It was so dark that one couldn’t see their own hand in front of their face, yet he moved about effortlessly in the darkness.

He was definitely a master.

I didn’t know how much time had passed when he suddenly walked over and stopped in front of me. I felt a chill run down my spine. What did he want? Was he going to kill me to silence me?

Suddenly, I caught a faint scent of mint.

That smell was something I would never forget.

“You… are you Yin…”

Before I could finish my sentence, he abruptly pushed me hard against the wall and covered my mouth.

We were so close that I was sure he was Yin Shengyao.

My hair stood on end; with his ruthless nature, I would undoubtedly die this time.

Then, he kissed my lips through his mask.

My body tensed, and I felt as if I were back on that humiliating day, when he looked at me with disgust, contempt, disdain, and hatred, wishing he could tear me apart.

What did he want? Was he going to humiliate me before killing me?

“Listen, everything that happens tonight must stay between us; not a word can leak out.”

I clenched my fists, trembling all over.

His hand gently stroked my neck as he leaned in close to my ear and whispered, “Did you hear me?”

Did he want to strangle me?

I gritted my teeth and said, “I understand; I will keep it a secret.”

“Good,” he said, satisfied. “You’re very smart. I like smart women.”

Who cares if you like me!

Suddenly, he released me, and the locked metal door opened, with Yin Shengyao vanishing without a trace.

I hurriedly ran out of the Secret Chamber, only to be embraced by a pair of hands. I panicked and fought back with punches and kicks, but he said, “Jun Yao, it’s me!”

“Mr. Tang?”

“Don’t call me Mr. Tang, call me Ming Li.” He held me tightly.

A warmth flooded my chest, and tears streamed down my face: “Ming Li.”

“That’s nice; call me again.”

“Ming Li.”

His gaze softened as he looked up at Xiao Lin, who had entered the Secret Chamber, scanned the area, and looked grim. “He got away, and he took all the documents.”

Tang Mingli’s expression darkened. “His martial arts are far superior to ours; we’re no match for him. There’s no need to confront him directly; we should call the police.”

Xiao Lin, unwilling to accept this, punched the wall hard and pulled out his phone.

At that moment, I suddenly felt a chill run through my body and realized with a start, “Oh no!”

A horrifying wail filled the air, as if countless ghosts were crying out in anguish.

“What time is it?” I asked urgently.

Tang Mingli checked his watch. “It’s midnight.”

“What’s today’s date on the lunar calendar?”

“The first day of the month.”

“Oh no!” I exclaimed. “Today is a ghost day, at midnight, this place is extremely ominous. Three people died here tonight, and the Chemical Plant is flourishing with Yin Qi. The ghosts are coming out!”

“What do we do?” Xiao Lin asked.

“What else can we do? Run!” I shouted, pulling Tang Mingli towards the exit.

The spirits of Guang Bo and the others appeared by the door. I drew my Peachwood Sword and swung it, slicing one ghost in half. Tang Mingli and Xiao Lin pushed back the other two ghosts and raced out.

But it was too late; a large group of ghosts blocked our way, while another group chased us from behind. We were trapped in the narrow corridor, with no way to escape.
