Horror Camgirl - Ch. 37: Refining the Longevity Elixir

A middle-aged man in a white coat arrived, his expression serious as he said, "I’m the deputy director of this hospital. If you have any issues, you can speak to me."

"Oh no, it's Deputy Director Chen," whispered a nearby nurse. "Who doesn't know he has a grudge against Doctor Qin?"

"Deputy director? Fine, my brother has been beaten up by your doctor. Are you going to do anything about it?" shouted a woman, looking fierce and aggressive.

I keenly noticed that she exchanged a look with Deputy Director Chen. A thought crossed my mind—could it be that Deputy Director Chen had specially brought her to deal with Doctor Qin?

Looking around, I realized we were in a blind spot for the cameras, where nothing could be recorded. It seemed this had all been premeditated.

"Doctor Qin, why did you hit him?" Deputy Director Chen asked in a deep voice.

"I didn't touch him at all," Doctor Qin replied coldly.

"Do you have any witnesses?" Deputy Director Chen pressed.

The woman, accompanied by two burly men, pointed menacingly at the crowd, "Who saw it? Step forward!"

Everyone around us fell silent, afraid to speak. Deputy Director Chen felt smug as he said, "Doctor Qin, I’m truly disappointed in you. I’m revoking your prescribing rights; you need to reflect on your actions."

A cold glint appeared in Doctor Qin's eyes. Unable to bear it any longer, I stepped forward and said, "I saw it. Doctor Qin didn't hit him; he fell on his own."

"What the hell are you saying?" The woman rushed at me, grabbing my collar. I seized her arm and twisted it forcefully. She screamed, falling to her knees, "My hand is going to break!"

I pushed her away and said, "I’m not a nurse to let you bully me." I glared at the two men closing in on me and said, "What, you want to fight? Deputy Director Chen, does your hospital condone these thugs beating up the relatives of patients?"

Deputy Director Chen's face turned sour as he responded, "Fighting is not allowed in the hospital. If it continues, I’ll call security."

The woman’s eyes darted around before she said, "What can you prove on your own? The fact that my brother was injured is undeniable."

Deputy Director Chen nodded. "Yes, a family member was indeed injured, so Doctor Qin is responsible, thus…"

"Wait a minute," I interjected, "who says he’s injured? He’s been covering his head; who has seen the wound?"

I walked straight up to him, "You claim Doctor Qin hurt you, let’s see your injury."

"Look," he removed his hand, and I pretended to touch the spot while actually applying ointment from the Healing Pills on his supposed wound.

"You liar!" I shouted, "You’re not hurt at all; that blood is from who knows where, trying to deceive us."

"You’re talking nonsense." He leaped up, and I said, "Do you dare wipe off the blood so everyone can see your injury?"

He wiped his forehead: "Look, such a long wound."

The crowd’s expressions turned peculiar, even Deputy Director Chen and the woman looked astonished.

He touched his forehead and realized the wound had already scabbed over, and there were signs of the scab falling off.

"This injury is clearly from days ago, but you’re trying to pin it on Doctor Qin. How shameless!" I pulled out my phone, "Any issues, let’s call the police."

Deputy Director Chen hurriedly stepped in to intervene, smiling, "It’s all a misunderstanding. No need to involve the police; let’s resolve this privately."

I looked at Doctor Qin, who gently replied, "Let it go. I have nothing to worry about."

Deputy Director Chen signaled to the group causing the disturbance, and they reluctantly fled.

"Thank you for what you did just now," Doctor Qin said gratefully. I replied, "No problem, but be careful; they won't let this go easily."

Doctor Qin's lips curled into a mysterious smile, "They won’t have another chance."

A couple of days later, I heard that Deputy Director Chen was taken away for investigation by the disciplinary committee for accepting bribes. That group causing the disturbance was also arrested for repeated misconduct.

I felt a surge of fear; it seemed that Doctor Qin was not someone to be easily bullied.

After taking care of my brother that day, I remembered my phone was broken, so I went to the mall to buy the latest camera phone. Now that I had some money, I splurged on the best one for improved live-streaming quality.

I logged into Black Rock TV and calculated my recent tips—an impressive 150,000, with viewership peaking over a million.

Just a few more streams, and I could achieve Gold Level status.

I was thrilled to see a message from Huang Shan Jun. Opening it, he said, "Young lady, that old man asked me to pass something to you."

I received the document, which turned out to be the medicine prescription for Longevity Water.

In the prescription, True Lord Zhengyang mentioned that I only had one leaf of Lan Guizhi on hand, insufficient for creating the Longevity Elixir, but I could make Longevity Water, which could extend a person's life by a month.

A month could drive many people crazy with desire.

I carefully reviewed the prescription and then promptly deleted it.

The various materials required for the prescription were all in the medicine kit True Lord Zhengyang had previously given me. This was many times harder than making Healing Pills, but I had no choice but to push forward.

Chapter 37: Refining the Longevity Water

I lit a fire and carefully placed various medicinal herbs into it. Unlike making Healing Pills, crafting Longevity Water required a continuous infusion of Spiritual Energy; even a one-second interruption would ruin the entire batch.

This concoction simmered for a full four hours, and I poured in Spiritual Energy non-stop for those same four hours. I activated the basic techniques taught to me by True Lord Zhengyang. Initially, it was quite taxing, but gradually, I entered a strange state.

I felt as if I were a transceiver, absorbing the Spiritual Energy from my surroundings, circulating it through my body to enhance my meridians, and then infusing it into the potion, repeating this cycle over and over.

For some reason, I became increasingly at ease. By the end, the once dark mixture transformed into exceptionally clear liquid in an instant.

It was done!

I let out a long sigh of relief, surprisingly not feeling tired at all; instead, I felt invigorated, completely refreshed.

I poured the potion into the jade bottles I had prepared in advance—one leaf had produced ten bottles of Longevity Water.

Looking at the bottles lined up on the table, I sighed, thinking that if I had been able to do this a few years earlier, perhaps I could have extended my grandmother’s life.

Aside from my brother, my grandmother was my closest relative.

I called Tang Mingli and mentioned I had some longevity potion on hand, asking if he could help me find a market for it.

I no longer dared to sell the medicine myself, so I sought Tang Mingli’s help for safety.

Somehow, I had completely come to trust Tang Mingli.

Upon hearing my words, Tang Mingli immediately became excited and said in a low voice, "You’ve turned that leaf into potion? How effective is it?"

"One bottle can extend life by a month."

Tang Mingli sounded somewhat disappointed. "Only a month?"

I replied, "During that month, the patient's body will recover to peak condition instead of languishing in a hospital bed."

Tang Mingli perked up again. "How many do you have?"

"Ten bottles."

"That’s enough," he said. "Jun Yao, when you bought that leaf, I thought about purchasing it from you, but I didn’t know how to use it. To be honest, the old man of the Guo Family is gravely ill; the doctors have determined he has less than a month to live. Jun Yao, wait for me; I’ll come pick you up right away."

After hanging up, he immediately called his subordinates and said sternly, "Keep Madam Yuan safe. If anything happens to her, I’ll hold you all accountable."

I was putting away the potion bottles when suddenly I felt a hint of danger. I dodged to the side just in time to avoid a fist-sized iron ball that flew past me and smashed into the wall.

A chill ran through me; if that iron ball had hit my head, I would have been a corpse.

"Who’s there?" I shouted loudly.

"Oh, little young lady, I didn’t expect you to have some skills," a skinny, lewd man swaggered in, a sinister smile playing on his lips.

Why did this guy look so familiar?

That’s right!

I had seen on the news that the police found a naked homeless man around the chemical plant. Wasn’t he the one?

"You’re that homeless man?" I exclaimed in surprise.

Master Dong’s face darkened. He had come at Wei Ran's invitation to do a job. That night, he had originally planned to infiltrate the chemical plant, but unexpectedly, he had been knocked out by a master and left outside naked, which was a tremendous humiliation.

His expression turned icy, sending shivers down my spine. I instinctively took a step back and glanced out the window, calculating my chances of jumping out.

His gaze fell on the box in my hands, revealing a glint of greed. "Hand over that Longevity Water, and I’ll spare your life; otherwise, hmm, I’ll twist your head off."

I had backed up to the window, grabbed a flower pot, and hurled it at him before decisively jumping out.

Master Dong sneered, "Thinking of escaping? It won’t be that easy."

Just a few steps out the window, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my leg, and I fell to the ground, looking down to see a bloody hole in my calf.

He had jumped down and was reaching for my box.

Suddenly, two figures burst out from the shadows, charging at Master Dong. He smiled sinisterly: "Finally here, but too bad, just two peak Bright Strength fighters aren’t enough to fill my gaps."

As the three engaged in combat, the two fighters realized with alarm that Master Dong was a Dark Strength master.

"Madam Yuan, run!" they yelled. "We’ll hold him off!"

I gritted my teeth and struggled to get up, limping forward quickly, but then I heard a scream. The two bodyguards flew past me, landing in front of me with their chests caved in, covered in blood.

Master Dong was closing in. I could only counterattack, pouring a bit of Spiritual Energy into each move.

"Hey?" Master Dong’s brow furrowed. "You’re also an internal energy master?"

He mistook my Spiritual Energy for the internal energy of a martial artist.

He chuckled coldly, "Just a little girl who’s barely entered the realm of internal energy, completely inexperienced in combat. You’re no threat."

I had only been practicing for a month!

He feigned a strike toward my face, and as I raised my hand to block, he suddenly punched my arm.

With a sickening crack, my right arm shattered.

"Ah!" I screamed in pain as he grabbed my neck and snatched the box away.
