Horror Camgirl - Ch. 40: The Killing Gate

“Mom.” The two infants crawled towards her, waving their bloody little hands. “Mom.”

“Ah!” Huang Xin screamed in fright, her eyes rolling back as she fainted.

I stood downstairs in her upscale neighborhood, a cold smile tugging at the corners of my mouth.

Though the infant spirits were clinging to their mother, their father bore guilt as well. Therefore, tonight, these two infant spirits would also seek out their father, causing a great upheaval.

Early the next morning, I heard the news that Huang Xin had a nightmare and was so frightened that she lost her sanity. Her parents took her back to their hometown for treatment. At the same time, two prominent wealthy men had their homes haunted in the middle of the night, leading to unrest in their families—one broke a leg, and the other cracked his head, and they were now desperately searching for a master to exorcise the ghosts.

I sneered; heavenly calamity can be forgiven, but self-inflicted disasters cannot be tolerated.

The two little ghosts were not deeply resentful; having taken their revenge, they should go to the underworld to be reincarnated. However, Huang Xin and the others had absorbed Yin Qi, which would keep them ill for three to five months.

It was a pity that Huang Xin had just started dating Guo Xuan and hadn’t had time to conceive his child.

A gentleman’s revenge is not too late, and one day, I will settle this score.

Xiao Lin called me, saying that the issue with the Chemical Plant had been resolved and he wanted to treat me and Tang Mingli to a meal.

He booked a private room in the most famous restaurant in Shan City, said to have excellent business, where even money might not guarantee a reservation; sometimes, connections and power were what mattered.

Xiao Lin was able to secure a private room, indicating that he held a decent position.

After several rounds of drinks, he suddenly asked, “Do you believe that the Chemical Plant is really producing drugs?”

Tang Mingli and I fell silent. He took out a photo and pointed to the man in the middle of the front row, saying, “This is my father. The man next to him is Uncle Li, a technician at the plant. Supposedly, his name is Li Fang, and he died that night. However, I’ve searched all the personnel records left in the factory and couldn’t find this person. I’ve asked the old workers from back then, and no one knows where he came from.”

I frowned. Could he be a developer of some kind of super potion?

Xiao Lin put the photo away with a sigh, saying, “There are orders from above that this case is not to be investigated further. I wonder if my father can rest in peace.”

I said seriously, “Perhaps the old factory director doesn’t want the factory’s secrets to be known by others. Why push the issue?”

Xiao Lin smiled and replied, “That makes sense.” He paused before saying, “As a thank-you, I do have some information I can share with you two.”

“What information?” I asked.

Xiao Lin leaned forward, speaking softly, “According to reliable sources, two killers from the Killing Gate have arrived in Shan City.”

I asked curiously, “What is the Killing Gate?”

Tang Mingli smirked, “A killer organization, said to be filled with experts. Guo Tianxiong and his son can no longer sit still.”

It was indeed dramatic for Guo Tianxiong to hire assassins to kill Guo Tianfeng and Tang Mingli, a grand spectacle of family rivalry.

However, considering Guo Tianxiong was the biological son of Old Master Guo, why would he abandon his own son to nurture a distant relative instead?

Could it be…

Not what I imagined?

This could be a soap opera with forty episodes.

Xiao Lin laughed heartily, “You have some idea, good. Come, let’s drink.”

The meal was enjoyable, but since both of them had poor alcohol tolerance, I ended up downing only two bottles of beer while they were both thoroughly intoxicated.

Before Xiao Lin passed out, he cursed, “Were you born in a wine cellar? I’ll never drink with you again!”

Tang Mingli, drunk and acting irrationally, leaned against my thigh and wouldn’t let go, no matter how much I kicked him away, mumbling, “You smell so good…”

In the end, I had to take them home.

To my surprise, Xiao Lin lived in Lakeside Villa; the Special Department must have really good perks.

Days passed quickly, and it was almost time to prepare for the live broadcast. Suddenly, Tang Mingli called, saying Old Master Guo was celebrating his seventy-ninth birthday and was planning a grand affair, inviting all the notable figures from Shan City and the entire Southwest region.

Previously, he had been gravely ill, and many had been eyeing the Guo Family with intent. This time, he was using the birthday as a warning to those people—he was still alive and kicking, so don’t stir up trouble.

Old Master Guo invited me as well, and out of politeness, I could only agree.

I looked at myself in the mirror. Since the incident at the Chemical Plant, I had absorbed a significant amount of the vengeful spirits’ resentment energy. Although they had died unjustly, over the years, they had also killed many, including some innocent bystanders who wandered in.

I had eliminated some of the vengeful spirits, which was a great merit, and most of the karmic sores had disappeared. There were still two left, one on my forehead and one on my cheek, which looked quite disgusting.

I was excited; it wouldn’t be long before I was no longer an ugly freak.

Wearing a mask and a hat, I got into Tang Mingli’s car.

The moon was eerily beautiful tonight, evoking an unspeakable melancholy. As the car drove down a secluded street, a white figure suddenly appeared on the road ahead.

Tang Mingli instinctively swerved the steering wheel, and the SUV crashed into a nearby tree, the hood flipping up and smoke billowing out.

We looked back, and the figure had vanished.

A ghost?

I silently took out my phone, opened the Live Stream Room, and changed the title to: “Car Accident Encounter at Night: Is the Woman in White Human or Ghost?”

After the live broadcast from the Chemical Plant, I had gained notoriety, with tens of thousands of viewers refreshing the page daily, eagerly awaiting my online stream. Once the Live Stream Room opened, the audience instantly exceeded fifty thousand.

“Host, did you encounter a scammer? Don’t worry, my brother has some influence in Shan City; just say the word, and I’ll help you deal with a few scam artists.”

“Is the person ahead a ‘boss’? Haha, host, your viewers are really full of hidden talents.”

“Host, are you out wandering with the Tyrant again at this late hour? Be honest, are you planning to go to a hotel?”

Before the audience was prepared, a pale woman’s face suddenly pressed against the window, her face covered in blood, her eyes cold and filled with malice, revealing a sinister smile.

The woman ghost had a talisman on her forehead.

"This is a spirit servant!" I exclaimed. "Someone is controlling her!"

With a loud bang, the window shattered, and the ghostly woman’s pale arm reached in, gripping my neck.

I pulled out my Peach Wood Dagger and stabbed it hard into her arm. A foul-smelling smoke erupted. Kicking the car door open, I forced it ajar, and the ghost retreated into the darkness, disappearing.

“Be careful.” Tang Mingli and I got out of the car, cautiously scanning our surroundings. I always carried my Peach Wood Dagger just in case. “This spirit servant is not simple.”

Tang Mingli said coldly, “This is a killer ghost from the Killing Gate, skilled in controlling ghosts to kill. Countless wealthy people have died at their hands.”

What is the Killing Gate? Has the live stream turned from paranormal to martial arts?

The Killing Gate is an assassination organization said to be extremely mysterious and powerful; there’s no one they can’t kill, only those they don’t want to kill.

That means the live stream is facing its greatest crisis ever.

“Don’t be afraid, host! We’re here for moral support!”

“Host, what do you have in your hand?”

Looking down, I noticed something crawling beneath the skin of my arm, climbing up to my hand, then tearing through my skin to emerge.

Cockroaches! It was cockroaches!

“Ah!” Countless cockroaches surged out from beneath my skin. I screamed in terror, scratching frantically at my body.

“Host! Stop it!” Tang Mingli hugged me, but I completely ignored him, struggling and screaming wildly, scratching myself and drawing blood.

At that moment, a ghostly figure appeared behind him, sharp claws lunging towards his back.

Tang Mingli was the true target.

He sensed danger and instinctively dodged to the side, the ghost’s claws grazed his chest, ripping his suit and leaving a dark wound on his torso.

The ghostly figure plunged back into the darkness, vanishing once more.

Tang Mingli's face turned pale; the wound on his chest was pitch black, indicating he had been poisoned by the ghost.

He slapped me hard, waking me up. “Host, calm down and look closely. There are no bugs on you; it’s all an illusion created by the ghost.”

I stared blankly, noticing my body was clean—there were no cockroaches at all.

Damn! This ghost is powerful; it even tricked us into seeing illusions!

Could it be that we can see everything the host sees? How advanced!

This isn’t scientific!

Are ghosts scientific?

At that moment, my phone rang for a call request. It was Huang Shan Jun.

“Girl, you’re in danger. Want me to help?” he said in his usual carefree tone.

“Huang Shan Jun, please save me,” I quickly replied.

“Call me ‘big brother’ so I can hear it.”

“Big Brother Huang Shan, help me!”

“Haha, that sounds really nice,” Huang Shan Jun said. “Now, walk forward eight steps.”

I did as instructed, and he continued, “Now, walk left four steps.”

“Step back three steps, then right five steps. Good, now stab!”

My face darkened, and I thrust forward with my sword, a piercing scream echoed in the air. The ghost revealed itself, and my Peach Wood Sword pierced her chest. Her form flickered, ultimately dissolving into black smoke that entered my nostrils.

Though it sounds slow, it all happened in less than half a minute.

“My spirit servant!” A furious male voice suddenly erupted from the darkness.

Huang Shan Jun laughed, “The main person has arrived. This is an internal energy martial artist; you’re not his match. Let that kid deal with him.”

From the darkness, a muscular man shot out like a cannonball, brandishing a knife that glimmered with a cold black light, swinging it towards me.

I quickly spun and dodged. Tang Mingli moved like lightning, rushing in and cleanly blocking the strike.

The two engaged in fierce combat in the darkness, the Live Stream Room filled with a flurry of comments.

This killer is truly professional; even the knife is poisoned.
