Eldritch Horror Theatre - Ch. 104: The Hunter Craves Blood (Part 4)
Sure enough, the best place to spy for intelligence is always at the competitor's place.
Under strict surveillance, Fu Qian was escorted all the way outside the Night Watcher Base.
Speed is paramount in war; Fu Qian didn't waste any time. As soon as the Night Watcher girl left, he quickly hailed a cab.
"You want to go to Houhai Manor?"
However, when the taxi driver heard the address, his expression was a bit strange, and he looked him up and down.
"Is there a problem?"
This guy's reaction was a bit puzzling. Fu Qian's biggest worry was that if this place was some secret code name, it would be a bit troublesome.
"There's no problem per se, but generally, not many people take a taxi there."
About an hour later, at a distance from the destination, Fu Qian got out of the car early.
From this location, he could already see a continuous stretch of magnificent buildings in the distance.
This Houhai Manor was actually a genuine mansion of a prominent family. Compared to the ancestral home of the Huang Family of Xiyuan, it was probably several times larger.
No wonder the driver was surprised.
Those going in and out of such a place should all be celebrities and dignitaries; even if one was doing miserably, it wouldn't be to the extent of taking a taxi.
Young people nowadays, suffering just to save face!
Seeing Fu Qian get off so early, the driver sighed and shook his head while taking the few bills Fu Qian fished out of his pocket.
Not minding the driver's misunderstanding, Fu Qian didn't rush to the destination after getting off the car, but patiently waited on the side.
Sure enough, about ten minutes later, a roar sounded, and a flashy luxury sports car rushed over like lightning, heading straight for the direction of the manor.
Crack!
Fu Qian kicked and snapped a tree, which unhesitatingly fell towards the center of the road.
The piercing sound of braking echoed through the fields; the sports car skidded all the way until it stopped a few meters away from the tree.
"I opened this mountain, I planted this tree..."
"Courting death."
The driver inside the car didn't give Fu Qian the chance to finish reciting the classic bandit line at all.
Almost before the car had fully stopped, the door flew open, and a white figure charged out.
With the sound of a violent wind, this guy didn't hesitate and threw a punch straight at Fu Qian.
Sure enough, a Beyonder, and a hot-tempered one at that.
Seeing the opponent swooping over like a white bird, aiming straight for a vital spot, Fu Qian sighed in admiration.
How domineering!
Standing in place without moving, Fu Qian let the opponent rush right in front of him.
The next moment, he raised his left hand, striking later but arriving first, and directly slapped this guy on the face.
Facing this boundless and thick slap, this guy only managed half a terrified expression before being slapped flying backwards, losing consciousness in mid-air.
Fu Qian took a step forward, and before the other party landed, he grabbed him by the neck and lifted him in his hand.
Not bad, didn't get my clothes dirty.
Fu Qian nodded in satisfaction.
Half a minute later, with a frown, Fu Qian changed into this all-white outfit, and conveniently found a place to tie up the unconscious guy.
He hit pretty hard just now; this guy probably wouldn't wake up anytime soon.
But to ensure his operation wouldn't be interfered with, he still had to add a layer of insurance.
Of course, considering this guy currently only had his underwear left on, even if he woke up, he probably wouldn't continue heading to his destination.
After everything was settled, Fu Qian lifted the tree, threw it aside, drove the car, and sped away.
After driving a distance, Fu Qian slowed down the car and faced the rearview mirror, his facial features beginning to change rapidly.
This process was not easy.
After wearing a mask on his face, the difficulty of changing his face was more than ten times greater.
Fortunately, the mask adhered tightly to the skin; no matter what, it would still change with the adjustment of the muscles.
Although it wasn't as natural as changing before, leading to an accidental Elder God face if he wasn't careful.
But it didn't matter, taking it slowly, as long as there was a reaction, it was fine.
It took almost ten minutes before Fu Qian finally adjusted his new face, ensuring it was at least eighty or ninety percent similar to the original owner.
The only problem was that the guy clearly had powder on his face, truly a prime example of an oiled head and powdered face.
Fu Qian expressed his inability to accept this, so he ultimately gave up on this step.
Having settled this problem, Fu Qian picked up an invitation card from the side.
"Mr. Zha Yingjun..."
This name... Fu Qian looked at it with a frown.
But having spent so much effort disguising himself, he wasn't going to be picky.
Come on, let's get this nesting over with!
Fu Qian drove all the way to the square in front of the manor, which was now crowded with luxury cars and extremely lively.
According to the contents of the invitation, tonight's banquet gathered almost all the celebrities in Shangjing. The attendees were all wealthy and powerful; at the very least, they were young superhumans like Zha Yingjun.
Getting out of the car, an attendant naturally came over to park it.
It looks quite peaceful.
A few minutes later, Fu Qian stood in the banquet hall, observing every movement around him.
The information obtained from Yuan Shan's side wasn't much; he only knew this was her suspected hiding place, and knew nothing else.
For now, he could only Observe Quietly. If a situation really arose, he had to try his best to ensure the thief didn't fall into their hands.
In fact, as the banquet started, Fu Qian had already sensed suspected Night Watchers entering, their eyes burning brightly as they searched for the target.
This place was indeed under surveillance.
But it seemed Yuan Shan had already greeted the host family.
The master of Houhai Manor, surrounded by the crowd like stars around the moon, didn't show any displeasure.
Fortunately, he had already changed his appearance, and judging from the treatment he had received so far, the person he was impersonating was also an unfamiliar face.
Up until now, hardly anyone had come over to say hello; most people cast scrutinizing glances.
The glances from the ladies were quite a few, although they mostly lingered on his physique.
Brother Zha Yingjun should also be a newcomer to the social scene, which is why he dressed up so grandly to come over and broaden his network.
Compared to the stubborn peers who stayed at home hitting sandbags to build muscle, this guy undoubtedly deeply understood the art of marketing.
Wait a minute, why does this person look a bit familiar?
As another lady's gaze swept past, Fu Qian suddenly felt something was wrong.
Looking up, the person passing right in front of him had exceptionally familiar facial features.
Wen Li?
Fu Qian was startled.
He had a deep impression of this VIP to be protected who was as fragile as glass.
Why did this daughter of destiny run over here?
And it seemed that she was undoubtedly receiving the same treatment as him, both being marginalized figures at the banquet. She looked like a complete newcomer.
At most, her good looks brought her a bit more attention.
He remembered that at the end of the last mission, she was already securely a Tier 6 superhuman.
Fortunately, his disguise was still extremely perfect. She clearly didn't recognize him, and her gaze swept over him without any special reaction.
Fu Qian was deep in thought when he suddenly detected an extremely subtle hum.
This is...
Fu Qian instantly realized something and kicked Wen Li in front of him away.
