Eldritch Horror Theatre - Ch. 88: King of the White Tower (10)
Speaking of which, this was the first time he had seen a supernatural creature of this world.
Whether it was the initial Werewolf Maggot Men or the Residue Amalgamation in the Furnace, fundamentally, they still possessed some traces of humanity and weren't purely beastly in appearance like this.
To sum it up, he didn't have much PvE experience.
He had to admit that this thing's appearance seriously challenged one's imagination, and the oppressive feeling brought by its massive body was incredibly strong.
He didn't know where the White Tower Company had procured such a vicious beast.
After its roaring session, the crocodile monster finally locked onto its target, the huge single eye on top of its head glaring dead at him.
Thud! Thud!
Its giant hind claws stomped on the ground, each step gouging deep craters into the hard floor.
The next moment, the beast reared its upper body high, let out another roar, and charged over with unstoppable momentum.
Fu Qian dodged to the side, easily avoiding the frontal assault, and with a flick of his fingers, released an Air Bullet.
He didn't expect it to deal much damage; it was mainly to test the creature's toughness.
The facts proved that this thing's defense was astonishingly high. The Air Bullet, which was enough to blow a hole through a human body, barely left a mark on it.
The crocodile monster rushed past him, charging forward for over a hundred meters and leaving a long, deep trench on the ground, before finally crashing headfirst into the edge of the arena.
Boom!
Half of the audience stands shook, and a bunch of people fell down like dumplings dropping into boiling water. Instantly, wails and screams filled the air.
However, such an exaggerated impact only dazed the crocodile monster for less than half a second.
With a whip of its giant tail, turning a few lucky spectators into minced meat at random, the crocodile monster spun around and targeted Fu Qian once more.
This bloody scene drew another wave of cheers from the stands, and amidst the screams, some people were even tossed down directly.
Talk about a copper head and iron arms; this thing's vitality was insanely strong. If he didn't hit a vital spot, it would be hard to deal any substantial damage.
Fu Qian's mind raced.
The problem was that it was so huge, its hind legs even taller than his head, and since it was running all over the place, hitting a vital spot wouldn't be that easy.
Wait a minute, it's very large.
Fu Qian thought for a moment, then took a deep breath.
The next moment, a crackling, shattering sound erupted.
As blood surged, the bones and muscles throughout his body began to break and expand, stretching out brazenly in all directions, as his body rapidly grew taller.
When it was all over, Fu Qian had transformed into a giant more than twice his original height.
Not only that, but in accordance with his will, his entire right arm had now become a sharp, elongated claw.
As expected, standing tall allowed one to see far. His field of vision was much better now.
The only pity was that no matter how good the quality of the clothes, they couldn't withstand this level of expansion. Everything on him had shattered to pieces during the transformation.
As a person with public decency, Fu Qian acutely noticed this and very civilly added a bone-plate armor in the shape of Iron Man around himself.
He couldn't maintain this state for too long; he needed to finish the fight quickly.
His size and strength had skyrocketed simultaneously, but a near-tangible killing intent was also constantly bombarding his mind. If it went on for too long, he was afraid he would lose sanity.
This wasn't a realm he should be touching right now.
The crocodile monster clearly had low intelligence, turning a blind eye to Fu Qian's transformation.
By now, it had adjusted its balance and came sprinting wildly once again.
Bring it on!
Facing the behemoth charging over like a tank, Fu Qian didn't dodge this time.
Leaning forward, bending down, building momentum.
Just as the crocodile monster reached him with a violent gale, its massive jaws opening to bite, Fu Qian thrust out his right elongated claw at the exact same time.
Amidst an earth-shattering wail, the crocodile monster sprinted another dozen meters before crashing to the ground.
From its belly all the way to its tail, a terrifyingly ghastly gash was sliced open on its body. Blue-black blood gushed out, filling the deep trench.
Fu Qian stepped forward.
[Sanity Value minus 1]
The prompt ringing in his ear caused him a twinge of heartache.
Talk of the devil and he appears. I really lost Sanity Value!
Whoosh!
The sound of wind roared as the downed crocodile monster swept its blood-stained tail at him, but it was kicked away by Fu Qian.
Stepping further forward, sharp fangs identical to those in its mouth actually sprouted from the wound on its abdomen, opening wide in an attempt to swallow Fu Qian whole.
Are you trying to use a Saint's own technique against him?
Fu Qian easily dodged again and stomped on its lower jaw with his foot.
At this moment, a ball of dazzling golden lightning was converging within its bloody maw. At this distance, the electricity prickled his skin numb.
It looked like it was about to unleash a desperate ultimate attack.
However, Fu Qian gave it no further chance. With his foot pinning down the lower jaw, he grabbed the upper jaw with both hands and exerted sudden force.
Amidst a tragic and agonizing roar, the iron-hard outer skin crumbled inch by inch.
The crocodile monster's massive jaws were torn into two upper and lower pieces alive, and the lightning gathered in its mouth dispersed weakly.
Cheers ten times louder than its dying cries erupted. The stands had already forgotten all about the people falling down earlier.
Having dealt with his opponent, Fu Qian wasn't in a hurry to revert to normal. Instead, he looked up toward the viewing stand where Bai Jinting was.
The next moment, he raised the half-severed head of the crocodile monster in his hand towards that direction.
This highly provocative scene caused even the host to stumble for words for a moment.
Bai Jinting, however, maintained full composure, sitting as steady as Mount Tai, his smile undiminished.
Fu Qian's target wasn't him anyway.
The Demigod Ibrahimovic beside Bai Jinting, on the other hand, had already stood up.
Hmph!
With a cold snort, an electric sphere as dazzling as the sun appeared in mid-air over the White Tower, its intense light stinging people's eyes to the point of near blindness.
The next moment, hundreds and thousands of silver electric snakes rampaged out from it, bombarding the colosseum below. The terrifying thunder drowned out all other sounds.
The crocodile monster's corpse turned to ash instantly. A prison of lightning enveloped the entire colosseum, then rapidly contracted inward until it pressed right up in front of Fu Qian.
Facing this horrifying sight, Fu Qian remained utterly fearless, his killing intent overflowing as he stood toe-to-toe with the legendary Demigod.
Just when everyone thought a fight was going to break out, the steady Bai Jinting finally reacted, nodding at Ibrahimovic and saying something.
The latter snorted once more, and the sky-filling silver light dissipated instantly. He turned and sat back down in his seat.
Done!
Fu Qian's body subsequently shrank, reverting back to his normal size.
Of course, everything below his waist was still covered by the transfigured bone armor.
This was exactly the effect he wanted.
Feeling a little weak for the first time, Fu Qian was nevertheless extremely satisfied with how the situation developed.
He certainly wasn't protesting the underhanded operations just because he had nothing better to do.
Since hiding his strength in front of a Demigod was impossible, why not just blow things up out of proportion?
Vigorous fighting spirit, a thirst for victory, and mockery of rigged operations.
Painting himself as a character who would stop at nothing for victory might be better than being secretive.
Of course, there was one more thing. He had displayed the intent and courage to stand against a Demigod. If this guy had any archenemies or the like, it was about time they came knocking.
