Horror Camgirl - Ch. 88: Tang Mingli Advances

On that day, a few wealthy second-generation elites drugged me and left me in Yin Shengyao’s bed.

I was unconscious at the time, so I had no memory of what happened that night. Yet, now, every detail resurfaced vividly in my mind, down to every soft murmur, every kiss, and every brutal thrust. It felt like a curse—a spell that humiliated me and filled me with agony.

"Ah!" I screamed, grabbing a short dagger, slashing wildly at the air.

Tang Mingli was startled, and turned to Lu Pangzi. "What's happening?"

"This is the Heart Demon stage," Lu Pangzi explained. "Many powerful individuals can get through the earlier stages effortlessly, only to fail here and lose all progress."

Tang Mingli frowned. "What happens if you can't get past this stage?"

"The last person who made it to the seventh level couldn’t overcome their Heart Demon. It damaged their spirit so badly they ended up a fool," Lu Pangzi said with a shake of his head. "Such a shame."

Tang Mingli clenched his fists, his face darkening. If it had been anything else, he might have been able to use an artifact to forcefully break the formation and pull her out. But trapped by one's Heart Demon… unless someone is a master of spiritual power, there's no way to save them.

This sense of helplessness terrified him.

He was deeply afraid. Afraid of losing what he cherished most.

My head felt like it was about to split open, Spiritual Energy running wild within me, my vision reddening as I approached the brink of insanity.

Just when I was on the verge of losing control, a loud voice shouted through my earpiece, “Wake up!”

Startled, I snapped out of the Heart Demon, feeling cold and filled with dread at the close call.

“Girl, you’re too weak,” Huang Luzi said gravely. “If you can’t conquer your Heart Demon, I could save you this time, but if it comes back during higher-level breakthroughs, no one will be able to help.”

I took a deep breath, steadying myself. “Thank you, Senior Huang, for saving my life. I understand now. I’ll find a way to overcome it.”

With that, I wiped the sweat from my forehead with my sleeve and stepped out of the Seven Kill Array.

“She cleared it!” someone gasped. “She actually conquered her Heart Demon and passed the Seven Kill Array!”

“A miracle… truly a miracle.”

“So inspiring!”

Tang Mingli finally let out a sigh of relief, while up in the pavilion, Yin Shengyao’s lips curved into a faint smile.

I walked straight to the pavilion. “So, the Black Vine Wood is mine now?”

Lu Pangzi, looking stunned, gave me a thumbs-up. “Miss, you’re incredible. I, Lu Pangzi, am thoroughly impressed.”

He picked up a jade box and handed it to me. “This is yours!”

Taking the jade box, I felt the greedy gazes from all around me, though mixed with a hint of apprehension. Likely, they assumed I had a formidable backer and didn’t dare to act recklessly.

But wealth tempts the heart, and someone might still take the risk. I knew I couldn’t stay here any longer. Tang Mingli took my hand, and we quickly left the venue.

As we reached the exit, Old Li suddenly blocked our path. “Madam Yuan, our young master would like to invite you for dinner.”

“Sorry, no time,” I replied coldly, recalling the Heart Demon from earlier. If I saw him now, I might not be able to resist drawing my blade.

Old Li smiled. “No problem. Our young master has arranged a car to take you to the station. It bears the Medicine King Valley emblem, so no one would dare cross us openly.”

I hesitated, glancing at Tang Mingli. He smiled and said, “Since Young Master Yin has been so considerate, let’s accept his offer graciously.”

Old Li escorted us to a black SUV, giving a slight bow. “Young Master Yin says he looks forward to doing business with you again.”

Since we were already using his vehicle, it would be rude to refuse. I nodded slightly. “There will be a day for that.”

Tang Mingli looked around the car interior and laughed, “Medicine King Valley rarely concerns itself with follow-up care after a sale. I didn’t expect such excellent customer service this time.”

I stayed silent, and he pulled me close, saying, “Don’t worry. I’m here. Shan City is our territory. No one would dare touch you.”

This time, I didn’t push him away. I gently rested my head on his shoulder and whispered, “Thank you.”

Tang Mingli gently stroked my hair, his gaze drifting to the center console, a smirk playing on his lips.

Meanwhile, in a classical garden, Yin Shengyao watched the scene on a computer screen, Tang Mingli’s smile annoyingly clear in the footage.

He switched off the screen, turning to Old Li. “The two pills I gave you before—how are the alchemists coming along with those?”

Old Li replied, “The alchemists have been studying day and night for days. They’ve identified the ingredients, but the methods and specific quantities remain elusive. One even tried to replicate a batch, but the result was toxic and unusable.”

Yin Shengyao’s lips curled. “Exactly. If just analyzing the pill could reverse-engineer the formula, then it wouldn’t be so valuable.”

Old Li glanced up cautiously. “The Valley Master asked if there’s any way to get the formula. He said any means necessary.”

Yin Shengyao’s expression turned cold. “Do not act rashly.”

"Yes。" Old Li immediately lowered his head, heart pounding like a drum. The pressure from this young master was even more intense than when he faced the Valley Master. He had to be on full alert, carefully serving him with every ounce of focus.

We took the high-speed train straight back to Shan City. As soon as we boarded, I sensed something was off—it felt like countless eyes were fixated on us.

"Ming Li," I whispered. He had just bought two cups of coffee and slid one over to me, smiling. "Don't worry, I've got you."

I held the cup tightly, feeling a bit tense.

The train entered a long, dark tunnel, and suddenly, with two sharp pops, the lights in our carriage went out. Tang Mingli's voice cut through the darkness: "Don’t move."

Immediately, the sounds of a fierce fight and screams echoed in the pitch black. By the time the lights flickered back on, Tang Mingli was still seated across from me, not even slightly out of breath and not a single drop of blood on him. Holding a packet of sugar, he smiled and asked, "Would you like some sugar?"

I glanced around. The carriage had initially been fairly empty with only a few passengers. Now, there were just one or two left, all of whom wore terrified expressions as they hurriedly fled.

Unable to suppress my curiosity, I asked, "What if a Transformation Strength expert shows up?"

His smile remained calm. "I'll protect you. No matter who comes."

For some reason, I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

It only strengthened my resolve to refine some Spirit Liquid to help him break through to the next level.

The rest of the journey was peaceful, and we safely returned to Shan City. Uncle Zhong came to pick us up. He drove through countless alleyways for hours and even switched cars midway to shake off the tail following us. Finally, we lost them.

Once home, I took off my hat and mask, letting out a long sigh of relief. This trip to Rong City had been incredibly perilous.

I couldn't wait to check my group messages and, as expected, Huang Luzi had sent me a gift—a document. Opening it, I found the recipes for the Foundation Pill, Rejuvenation Pill, and Xuanyuan Pill.

Did Senior Huang Luzi send this because he noticed I'd found some of the ingredients?

Though he always appeared aloof, he was actually quite considerate.

I sent him a quick thank-you message, then committed the formulas to memory before securely deleting the electronic document.

Currently, I had all the ingredients only for the Rejuvenation Pill. The other two still needed some rare components. For now, I planned to focus on refining Spirit Liquid to help Tang Mingli advance.

I cut a small piece of Black Vine Wood, ground it into powder, and placed it into a pressure cooker. After simmering it down to a small ball of black paste, I gradually added the remaining ingredients, infusing them with Spiritual Energy.

This time, the lid didn't fly off. I ladled a spoonful of the inky liquid from the pot, and the rich scent of medicinal herbs filled the air.

Xuanyuan Liquid—finally completed.

I checked the time—nearly five hours had passed. The pressure cooker was nowhere near as efficient as a proper pill furnace.

I called Tang Mingli, asking him to come over quickly. When he arrived and saw the small bowl of black liquid, he asked, "What is this?"

"It's something good. Just try it," I urged, bringing the bowl to his lips.

Left with no choice, he downed it in one gulp, but his face twisted with discomfort. I couldn't help but twitch a little. "Is it really that bad?"

He asked helplessly, "What exactly is this?"

"You'll find out soon enough." I winked at him with a mysterious smile.

Before he could say anything more, he froze. The liquid he'd swallowed transformed into a wisp of energy that drilled straight into his Dantian. A booming sensation, like an explosion, erupted inside him, and he inhaled sharply, his face lighting up with excitement.

This was a sign of advancement!

He immediately sat cross-legged and began circulating his inner energy according to his family’s Internal Martial Arts.

Four hours later, just as I was nearly dozing off, a surge of energy pulsed through Tang Mingli's body. His eyes snapped open, and with a flick of his finger, a burst of inner energy shot out, shattering the glass on the table with a crisp crack.

I beamed. "Congratulations, Ming Li, you've finally broken through to Transformation Strength."

Tang Mingli looked stunned. "I actually broke through Transformation Strength... I thought it would take me at least another year or two."

I smiled without saying anything. Overcome with emotion, he grabbed my shoulders. "Jun Yao, was it that black liquid just now?"

"That was Xuanyuan Spirit Liquid," I explained. "It helps martial artists break through to Transformation Strength."

After his initial excitement, his expression turned serious. "Who else knows about this Spirit Liquid?"

"Only the heavens, the earth, you, and I," I assured him.

He exhaled in relief. "Jun Yao, do you understand how precious this Spirit Liquid is? If people find out you possess a medicine capable of advancing a Dark Strength Martial Artist to Transformation Strength, countless individuals will go mad trying to obtain it. Even the one protecting you from above might not be able to hold them back."

His tone turned grave. "Jun Yao, remember this—never let a third person know about it."
