Horror Camgirl - h. 65: I Am the Sect Leader

I understood immediately, stepping forward and forming a hand seal: "Did you mean that, my friend?"

To my surprise, Master Tianming, who had been calm all along, suddenly stood up, looking at me with shock in his eyes.

The technique I used was unique to the Huangtian Sect. If a disciple was out in the world and someone greeted them with this technique, it indicated they were from the same sect.

He scrutinized me up and down twice, his face darkening as he asked, "Who are you?"

"I am from the mountain," I pointed to the sky and replied.

This was also a secret code of the Huangtian Sect.

After a moment of silence, he said, "Since you claim to be from the Huangtian Sect, who is your master?"

I shook my head and replied, "His name is not something you can know."

As soon as these words left my mouth, everyone present gasped in surprise. I might be the first person to speak to Master Tianming this way in over twenty years.

"Impudent!" A Qian shouted angrily, but Tianming raised his hand to stop him, saying, "As far as I know, there are very few disciples left in the Huangtian Sect, and you lack any of our sect's techniques. Who exactly are you? Why are you impersonating one of my disciples?"

I smiled lightly and asked, "How much do you really know about our sect?"

Tianming frowned. His master had told him that after the Huangtian Sect established its power, it gradually declined, and its disciples scattered. At that time, only his master and his elder brother were left as disciples.

He had never met this master uncle, but his master had said that the master uncle possessed the sect's leader's token, as he was the leader of Huangshan Gate.

He sized me up again, pondering. Could this girl be the disciple of his master uncle?

A trace of greed flickered in his eyes, but it vanished quickly. If it were anyone else, they wouldn't have noticed, but I had activated my spiritual awareness and could see clearly.

I formed a hand seal as Huang Shan Jun had instructed, and as I completed the seal, a faint glow enveloped my hands. Tianming's expression changed drastically, his gaze turning somber.

I called out loudly, "Disciple Tianming of the Huangtian Sect, why do you not kneel before the sect leader?"

Everyone was taken aback, even Tang Mingli looked astonished.

Tianming’s face turned ashen. The seal I formed could only be performed by the sect leader. Despite being a peak second-rank cultivator, only a step away from breaking through to the third rank, he was now being admonished by a twenty-year-old girl. According to sect rules, he should bow to me.

A cold glint flashed in his eyes. Cao Yan was perceptive and immediately stood up, saying, "Young Lady, regardless of your identity, you are still young. Master Tianming is your elder; how can you be so disrespectful?"

I sneered and replied, "Mr. Cao is not a cultivator and does not understand the rules. In our sect, respect and order are paramount. I am the leader of the Huangtian Sect; he is a disciple and should bow to me. Isn’t that right, Tianming?"

Tianming's face grew even darker. A cruel smirk appeared on his lips as he said, "You, a mere first-rank girl, have no right to be the leader of the Huangtian Sect. Today, I challenge you. If you lose, you must hand over the leader's token and relinquish your position."

I was taken aback. Was this a rule of the Huangtian Sect?

Huang Shan Jun rubbed his chin and said, "It seems there really is such a rule."

I was speechless. Huang Shan Jun, are you setting me up?

"What if I refuse to accept?" I asked, feigning indifference.

Tianming sneered, "If you refuse the challenge, that means you admit defeat. Such a coward does not deserve to be a disciple of our Huangtian Sect and will be expelled."

What a ridiculous rule!

I felt anxious. With my abilities, how could I contend with a peak second-rank cultivator? Was I seeking death?

Huang Shan Jun said, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here for you. Help me get rid of this traitor, and I’ll reward you with something good."

Traitor?

I was confused. Huang Shan Jun explained, "This person carries a murderous aura within him, a secret technique of our sect. If a disciple betrays their master and attempts to harm them, the master, before dying, will pass their final bit of resentment into the betrayer’s body. From then on, if any other disciples discover the betrayer, they will be executed."

I was shocked. The Huangtian Sect had such a secret technique.

"Do you dare to accept the challenge?" Tianming called out loudly.

I replied meaningfully, "Tianming, you say I lack the qualifications to be the leader of the Huangtian Sect. Are you, a traitor, qualified?"

Tianming's face changed dramatically. I sternly said, "You killed your own mentor. Tianming, do you realize your crime?"

Tianming, humiliated and angry, said nothing. He flipped his hands, and a chilling energy swept toward me.

Tang Mingli immediately stepped in front of me, but I pressed down on his shoulder, saying, "Tianming, you dare to attack me, the sect leader? That is a grave sin. Today, I will cleanse our sect of you!"

After saying this, I pushed Tang Mingli aside and dodged, but the power of the peak second-rank cultivator still swept over my chest, making me feel nauseous and almost spit blood.

But I endured; I absolutely could not show any weakness now.

At that moment, the Ability User named A Qian lunged at me. I told Tang Mingli, "You handle him!"

Tang Mingli nodded and leaped in front of A Qian.

Meanwhile, Cao Yan, who had been watching from the sidelines, stood up, ready to command those hiding around us to take action, but was pulled back by Cao Tianning.

He signaled to his father, indicating that they should watch the fight from afar.

Cao Yan understood immediately. Betrayal of one’s master was a grave crime in both the martial and spiritual realms. Now that they had learned Master Tianming’s secret, he would not spare them.

It would be better to observe from the sidelines, and once the outcome was determined, they could think of another way.

Seeing they did not move, I secretly breathed a sigh of relief. If someone ambushed me from behind now, I would surely die.

Huang Shan Jun whispered in my ear, "The techniques of our Huangtian Sect are not mastered well by this person. Though he has broken through to the second rank, his spiritual energy is impure; his strength is not that great. Just do as I say, girl."

While dodging Tianming’s attacks, I walked the stance of the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams, moving faster and running my spiritual energy as Huang Shan Jun instructed.

"Girl, fortunately, you learned True Lord Zhengyang’s techniques from the beginning, so the spiritual energy you absorb is quite pure. You should have no problem dealing with this traitor," Huang Shan Jun said. "Alright, now is the time."

My expression turned cold as I charged directly at Tianming. He shouted, "Come on!" Splitting his hands, a wave of energy surged toward me, crashing into my body. I felt immense pain, as if I had been run over by a truck.

But I suppressed the agony and reached him, cupping my fists and extending only my index finger toward his chest.

With this finger, I drew upon all my spiritual energy and sent it into him. He sneered, "You’re just a mere first-rank cultivator. Even if you put forth all your strength, you cannot kill me!"

Cao Tianning, watching from the sidelines, sighed softly. He thought the woman might have some hidden moves to kill Master Tianming, but it seemed she was just like any other—time to think of another way.

"Hmph, a little girl dares to usurp my position as the leader of the Huangtian Sect. Die!" He raised his hand to strike at my crown.

At that moment, his face suddenly froze, his hand suspended in the air, disbelief written all over it.

He could not muster even a hint of spiritual power? What was happening?

Not only that, but it felt like there was an additional ferocious energy within him, crashing through his body and attacking his organs, instantly shredding his kidneys.

"Poof!" He spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes wide with shock. "What did you do to me?"

"Unfortunately, it wasn’t me," I said darkly, "You still don’t know. We, the Huangtian Sect, have a secret technique specifically designed to deal with traitors like you. When you killed your own master, he had already planted a bit of resentment in you. I merely activated that resentment."

Tianming stumbled back two steps, leaning against the round wooden table, suddenly recalling how he had poisoned his master’s food many years ago, causing his master to vomit blood and point at him, saying, "You traitor, because I passed our sect’s advanced techniques to your brother instead of you, you want to betray your master? Tianming, how could I have taught such a disciple?"

Tianming sneered, "Master, you were biased; you have no one to blame but yourself. I’ve already killed my brother, and now I’ll send you down to join him!"
