Horror Camgirl - Ch. 107: Tang Mingli’s Background

This man didn’t play by the rules; he was a demon. All he wanted was to get this over with quickly and escape with his life.

When Guo Tianxiong saw him, his expression grew even darker. Guo Xu pressed down on his shoulder and shook his head slightly.

Guo Mingxia was the first to shout, “Isn’t this Mr. Lu? How did he end up like this? Tang Mingli, was this your doing?”

Tang Mingli responded coldly, “Yes, it was me.”

Guo Mingxia exclaimed, “You’ve gone too far! Mr. Lu is a member of the Zhonghai Lu Family, and you dared to beat him up like this? If you want to die, go ahead, but don’t drag the Guo Family down with you!”

Old Master Guo, however, remained silent. He understood that with Tang Mingli’s status, even if he had beaten up a direct heir of the Lu Family, the Lu Family would have to bring their child over to apologize instead.

“Sir,” Tang Mingli said, “a few days ago, I encountered something that nearly cost me my life. Mr. Lu, go ahead and explain.”

Lu Dakai was already so terrified that his mental state was on the verge of collapse. He hurriedly said, “Two weeks ago, I bought a painting of a beautiful woman in Hong Kong. There are many legends surrounding this painting; supposedly, it’s been used for assassinations since ancient times. Anyone who places it in their home will vanish without a trace within three days.”

Guo Tianxiong scoffed coldly, “Nonsense! How could such a thing exist? That’s pure superstition.”

Ignoring him, Lu Dakai continued, “Guo Tianxiong found out that I paid a high price for the painting. He approached me and offered to exchange a plot of land in East City for it, as long as I delivered this painting to Young Master Tang.”

“What?” Old Master Guo was furious. He turned to Guo Tianxiong. “Is this true?”

Guo Tianxiong quickly retorted, “Slander! This is blatant slander. I had a legitimate transaction with Mr. Lu. I only sold that land at a low price to pay off Xu’er’s fines. Dad, you can’t just believe one man’s words and assume I’d resort to such tactics to harm someone!”

Guo Xu spoke calmly, “As the saying goes, ‘catch a thief with the loot, catch an adulterer in the act.’ What evidence do you have that my father intended to harm you? Based on Mr. Lu’s testimony? He’s been beaten up by you; who’s to say you didn’t force him to confess?”

Guo Mingxia chimed in as well, “Dad, Xu’er is right. We live in a society governed by the rule of law, and everything requires evidence. Tang Mingli, you’ve beaten someone severely—that’s intentional assault, and it’s a crime that could land you in prison!”

Lu Dakai quickly stammered, “No, no, no, this injury wasn’t from him. I hurt myself accidentally.”

Guo Xu walked over, helped Lu Dakai up from the ground, and let him sit on the sofa. “Mr. Lu, there’s no need to be afraid. You’re at the Guo Family’s home, and Old Master Guo is here. He will ensure you get justice; there’s nothing to worry about.”

He gave Lu Dakai a meaningful look. Lu Dakai was deeply conflicted. Admitting to this would ruin his reputation forever; who would dare do business with him in the future? Yet, if he didn’t confess, Tang Mingli would certainly not let him go.

Tang Mingli’s methods—he had already experienced them firsthand.

So, he kept his head down and remained silent.

Taking advantage of the situation, Guo Xu said, “Grandfather, you see? Mr. Lu is not willingly accusing my father. He’s only here because Tang Mingli forced him. You have to believe in my father!”

Tang Mingli spoke calmly, “Old Master, do you really think I would need to resort to such methods to deal with them?”

Old Master Guo’s face darkened as he remained silent.

Tang Mingli continued, “It seems you won’t cry until you see the coffin. Very well, you want evidence? I have plenty of it.”

With that, Uncle Zhong produced a memory card, inserted it into a handheld display, and began playing a recording of the conversation between Guo Tianxiong and Lu Dakai.

The entire conspiracy to murder Tang Mingli was laid bare, word by word, in front of everyone. Lu Dakai and Guo Tianxiong’s faces turned ashen, while Old Master Guo’s expression grew increasingly grim, as though he wished he could beat Guo Tianxiong to death right there.

Once the video finished, Tang Mingli said, “Guo Tianxiong, you never expected this, did you? While you were plotting with Lu Dakai, he secretly recorded the entire process to use as leverage against you in the future. This memory card was taken from Lu Dakai’s safe.”

Guo Tianxiong stepped back two steps, collapsing weakly onto the sofa. Old Master Guo's face turned pale with anger, and he roared, “You, you’ve really done a great job!”

Guo Mingxia retorted, “Dad, isn’t it partly your fault too? Who told you to be biased toward outsiders? Big Brother is your own son, your only son.”

Old Master Guo suddenly stood up, his voice booming with fury: “What do you know? Do you even realize that the reason our Guo Family has what it does today is all because of Ming Li!”

Guo Mingxia sneered dismissively, “What’s he worth? Just a mere martial artist.”

Before she could finish, Old Master Guo rushed over and slapped her hard across the face. She was stunned by the blow.

“Dad, you... you actually hit me?” From childhood, her father had always doted on her, never even speaking a harsh word. And today, he slapped her for some illegitimate child?

Old Master Guo was trembling with rage, and Guo Tianfeng quickly went over to support him.

It took a long moment for Old Master Guo to catch his breath. He said, “You... you know nothing, absolutely nothing! Guo Tianxiong, from today onward, you and your two sons are no longer part of the Guo Family. We’ll split the family!”

Guo Tianxiong was shocked and shouted, “Father, I’m your own son! You really want to sever ties with me? When you’re gone, who will see you off?”

Old Master Guo replied coldly, “Let me tell you the truth—Tianfeng is indeed my son.”

Even though everyone had suspected it, hearing Old Master Guo admit it himself was still a shock.

Old Master Guo sighed, “I’ve wronged Tianfeng and his mother. She and I were college classmates, and we were together, planning to marry after graduation. But then, a lot happened, and I had to leave her. At that time, I didn’t know she was pregnant. Later, she gave birth to a daughter—Ming Li’s mother.”

He paused, then continued, “I only found out about that daughter after your mother passed away. Later, I also learned about Tianfeng. I had planned to marry Lulu, but she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. In her final days, we got a marriage certificate, and though we didn’t have a formal wedding, she was still legally my wife.”

His children were all taken aback by the cascade of revelations. The eldest daughter, Guo Mingyu, asked, “Dad, why didn’t you tell us about something so huge?”

Old Master Guo sneered, “Dare I say it? You, you, and you—if you knew I had other children, would you really have stayed idle? No one knows a child better than their parent. Did you really think I didn’t know what kind of people you are?”

Guo Mingyu, feeling wronged, said, “Dad, you know I’m not that kind of person.”

Old Master Guo scoffed, “Oh, Yu, don’t think I don’t know. When I was younger, I was kind to a young maid in the household. I never had romantic feelings for her—just took pity on her and cared for her. But one day, she fell from the second floor while cleaning windows and died. Was that your doing?”

Guo Mingyu’s face turned pale. Old Master Guo continued, “You’re all wretched creatures. It’s all my fault—I failed to raise you properly. Enough, enough. I’m too old to continue this nonsense. Tianxiong, you will leave the family, and I’ll pass the position of Family Head to Tianfeng. As for his identity, I will announce it officially in the ancestral hall and have his name recorded under mine.”

He paused, then asked, “Ming Li, what do you think?”

Tang Mingli turned to look at me and said, “I can let it go, but my friend here almost lost her life.”

“Madam Yuan, it’s my fault for not raising my children properly,” Old Master Guo said to me. “How about this—I still have a 160-year-old Fengjian Grass. Madam Yuan, I’ll give it to you as an apology. Will that suffice?”

Fengjian Grass? I was secretly delighted. And it’s 160 years old—this age is perfect for refining a Second-Grade or even Third-Grade Elixir Pill.

I nodded. “Since Old Master Guo is so sincere, I will accept it.”

Guo Mingxia protested, “Wait! Even if this brat is really your descendant, you’re still his elder. How can you lower yourself so much?”
