Horror Camgirl - Ch. 72: Ability User

Tang Mingli also set many other rules, such as having a team spirit and obeying arrangements. Once selected, participants must sign a contract, bearing all consequences themselves.

Despite this, many people signed up. I looked at the long list of applicants and was surprised to find so many Ability Users and Martial Artists among my audience, with even a few cultivators present.

After the application deadline, Tang Mingli selected ten candidates for interviews, ultimately choosing four: two were Martial Artists, both at the mid-stage of Bright Strength. One was named Qin Nancheng, and the other Xia Qingyu. The other two were Ability Users: one named Tang Xin, a first-level Wood Ability User, and the other Huang Ruixi, a first-level Earth Ability User.

The cultivators were eliminated by Tang Mingli due to their low strength, and they carried an air of arrogance, eager to participate while also looking down on others.

This time, I had chosen a location that was known as Rulan.

Legend has it that beneath Dongshan County, east of Shan City, there is a small village with only a few dozen households and over eighty residents.

Ten years ago, a terrifying incident occurred in this village.

A villager working away from home had arranged to call his father that night, but no one picked up. Worried that his father might have had a heart attack, he called a neighbor, but still got no answer.

That night, he nearly called every number in the village, and no one answered. The next morning, he hurried back home by train. After traversing the mountains and entering the village, he found it eerily quiet, so much so that not even a dog was barking.

Rushing home, he opened the door to find his parents lying on the floor, with half-eaten food still on the table—they had died.

He went to seek help from others, only to discover that everyone in the village had died, seemingly all around the time of dinner the previous night, and in a mysterious manner.

Terrified, he immediately called the police. Upon their arrival, the authorities found the corpses showed no external wounds or signs of poisoning; it appeared they had died suddenly from cardiac arrest, and there were no signs of outsiders visiting the village.

The case was investigated for a long time, even involving a special task force, but no conclusions were reached. It was eventually closed as a case of food poisoning.

Since then, rumors of hauntings spread, and villagers who had survived the incident no longer dared to return; the small village was left desolate.

I arrived at the foot of the mountain in Tang Mingli's Land Rover. From there, we could only proceed on foot. The four viewers had also arrived.

Tang Xin, a nineteen-year-old girl, was particularly excited to see me. She ran up, grabbed my hand, and said, "You are the Horror Female Streamer! I’m your die-hard fan! I've been following you since your first live stream!"

I adjusted my hat and smiled at her. Huang Ruixi appeared tall and sturdy, looking very honest. Xia Qingyu had a fiery personality, while Qin Nancheng, a man, was cool and spoke little.

He was quite handsome, the kind that young girls would like.

I said seriously, "Everyone, my live streams come with risks; injuries are common, and there could even be life-threatening situations. Have you all thought this through?"

Xia Qingyu responded, "I'm a Martial Artist; we don't back down from a bit of danger!"

Huang Ruixi pounded his solid chest with his fist and said, "Don't worry, streamer; I may not have many skills, but I have guts!"

Tang Xin winked at me, saying, "Streamer sister, don’t underestimate me! I can definitely help you."

Qin Nancheng, with his stoic expression, asked, "When do we set off?"

"Since that's the case, I want to thank you all for your support," I nodded slightly and said. "Let's set off."

I opened the Live Stream Room and changed the name to: Wilderness Exploration, Seeking the Truth of Death.

The Live Stream Room reached a new high again, with over hundred thousand viewers pouring in. I aimed the camera at Tang Xin and the other three, letting them introduce themselves. To my surprise, I expected them to use their stage names, but they revealed their real names instead.

I suppose it makes sense; they were just temporarily joining the live stream, and the room wouldn’t protect their appearances from being recognized by the audience, so they might as well use their real names.

Wow, Tang Xin looks so cute! This Young Lady is actually an Ability User.

What does that mean? Are we Ability Users not allowed to be cute? Do you want to experience the feeling of having your butt burned? This must be a Fire-type Superhuman.

Qin Nancheng is so handsome! I like him.

Enough with the elementary school students already; your mom is calling you home to do your homework.

I think Xia Qingyu is nice, giving off a sunny youth vibe.

I timidly say, what if I like Huang Ruixi?

Can the women in front stop being infatuated? Can’t we just enjoy the live stream properly?

We set off on the mountain path, and the small village named Dimen Village was nestled within a valley. Surrounded by mountains, there was only one path leading in, which had become overgrown with thorns and weeds due to years of neglect.

Fortunately, the four were not ordinary people; if they had been pampered rich kids, it would have been a huge hassle.

Suddenly, Tang Mingli halted, looking around with a furrowed brow.

"What’s wrong?" I asked.

"It seems like someone is in the woods," he whispered, pulling out a short knife from his boot and slowly approaching a large tree.

The woods were eerily quiet. So quiet that not even the chirping of insects could be heard.

As we got closer, we all caught a whiff of a nauseating smell of blood.

Xia Qingyu picked up a bamboo stick and pushed aside the weeds under the tree, revealing a pile of bloody rabbits and wild chickens.

He picked up a wild rabbit, its belly torn open. With a grave expression, he said, "This rabbit was killed by a wild beast."

Qin Nancheng flipped over a fresh wild chicken and said coldly, "There’s not much blood in the corpse; the beast must have drained all its blood."

Are you kidding me? We haven’t even entered the village yet, and there’s already high energy?

Could it be like the American movie "The Hills Have Eyes"? Are there mutated villagers living in these mountains?

Are you all dumb? Those villagers died long ago.

The Live Stream Room erupted in chaos. I looked at Qin Nancheng and the others and said, "As you can see, this situation is very strange; it’s not too late to back out now."

However, excitement shone on their faces. Xia Qingyu said, "I’m not afraid of these devil monsters; my fists are itching to go!"

I felt a vein twitch on my forehead. Is “itching to go” really the right phrase here?

We continued deeper into the forest, trekking for a full three hours before finally cresting the mountain. In the valley, a quiet village came into view.

This place feels so eerie. It’s clear that the feng shui is bad. How did anyone build a village here back then?

A sinister canyon; this is said to be an extreme yin location in feng shui. Living in such a place can lead to financial loss or even death.

The path down into the canyon was even harder to navigate. After more than an hour, we finally entered the village. Strangely, despite it being just after three in the afternoon, it was already quite dark, and the air was permeated with a strange smell of blood, the source of which was unknown.

The village looked just as it did ten years ago. Even the furniture inside the houses remained; some dining tables still had half-eaten dishes.

After wandering around the village and finding nothing unusual, we chose a relatively clean house, tidied it up a bit, and took out our rations for dinner.

The sky had completely darkened, and the cold moonlight poured down, casting an even more eerie glow over the entire village.

The night was desolate. We built a fire, and out of curiosity, I asked Tang Xin, "How do you use your abilities?"

Tang Xin picked a weed and tossed it behind her, causing it to pierce the wooden beams of the house.

Wow, impressive, a leaf flying through the air!

Those in front clearly had no knowledge; this is a Wood Ability. It’s entirely different from the Martial Artist's leaf manipulation.

Tang Xin said, "I’m currently at the initial stage of level one, so I can only manipulate small plants as weapons. Those at levels five or six are said to have many skills that can make a small seedling grow into a towering tree overnight."

I was intrigued. If I could enlist such a master’s help, wouldn’t it be possible to mature a Spiritual Plant overnight?

However, a powerful Ability User like that would likely look down on such trivial tasks.

I then turned the camera towards Huang Ruixi and asked, "What about you?"

Huang Ruixi stared intently at the ground. Suddenly, the muddy earth began to rise, forming a small stove that encircled the fire we had built.
