Horror Camgirl - Ch. 81: Striking a Deal with Yin Shengyao

Wu Sunlin grabbed Wu Yujie's arm and urged, “Quickly, apologize to Mr. Yin.”

“Dad!” Wu Yujie protested furiously, “He injured Black Eagle and Black Panther, and you still want me to apologize?”

Wu Sunlin slapped him hard across the face. “You started it first! Even if Mr. Yin had killed them, he wouldn't have been in the wrong!”

Wu Yujie was utterly stunned. In his nearly twenty years of life, this was the first time his father had ever struck him, and in front of so many people.

Seeing that Wu Yujie still refused to apologize, Wu Sunlin warned urgently, “If you don't acknowledge your mistakes, I'll have no choice but to groom your younger brother for succession.”

Wu Yujie's face went pale. That so-called younger brother was, in truth, just an adopted child—a euphemism for his father's illegitimate son. This rival had been eyeing his status as the heir with great eagerness. His mother had pulled all kinds of strings to secure his position. If he lost out now, both he and his mother would be done for.

He took a deep breath, turned around, and bowed to Yin Shengyao in apology. “Mr. Yin, I sincerely apologize. I was young and foolish. I hope you can overlook my errors.”

Though he spoke words of apology, his eyes were filled with venomous hatred. He thought Yin Shengyao wouldn’t notice, but how could someone like Yin Shengyao miss it? He observed everything with a cold, calculating gaze.

Yin Shengyao looked at Wu Sunlin with a frosty expression. “Is this really the kind of incompetent heir the Wu family has? I truly doubt how long your family will last. I need a stable agent to work with.”

Both Wu Sunlin and Wu Yujie turned ashen-faced at this. Without another word to them, Yin Shengyao turned to grab my hand and led me away. I tried to resist, but a warning look from him made me tremble uncontrollably, leaving me no choice but to follow.

I hated myself for it. Why did I always feel this paralyzing fear when facing him?

He led me to a luxurious KTV private room. Cynthia followed us in, her eyes roaming over me with a subtle smile. “Mr. Yin has quite the eye for beauty. This girl truly is exceptional.”

Yin Shengyao's lips curved into a faint smile. “Of course, she's the best.”

His words pierced me like a knife. I gritted my teeth, wrenched my hand free from his grasp, and said coldly, “I think there's some misunderstanding here. I've only met Mr. Yin a few times. We’re not that close.”

Cynthia chuckled. “Oh, so Mr. Yin hasn’t won you over yet? No worries, young lady. Mr. Yin is quite the influential figure. If he has set his sights on you, it’s your good fortune. Doesn’t matter if you weren’t close before—you will be after tonight.”

Yin Shengyao merely smiled and said, “I think I need to have a private conversation with her.”

Cynthia was perceptive. After toasting a glass of wine, she left, leaving just Yin Shengyao and me in the spacious room.

Feeling uneasy, I frowned and said, “Mr. Yin, I don’t think we have anything to discuss.”

“You're stronger than I expected,” he said softly, sipping his red wine while lounging on the plush sofa.

I shot him a sideways glance. “What do you mean by that?”

“You’ve exposed all your cards to the world as a horror streamer. I initially thought you'd be devoured quickly, with nothing left. But surprisingly, you've only grown stronger.” His eyes held a faint admiration, tinged with mockery.

“The pills you showcased recently were enough to even tempt me. I thought for sure you'd be dead by now, but it seems someone influential has decided to protect you.”

“And apparently, it's not just any influential figure—someone with significant weight in China, which is why Hu Qingyu dared to eliminate those people so decisively.” He leaned in closer. “I’m curious. How did someone like you, who had nothing, suddenly become so sought after?”

I was taken aback. His words contained so much information. Did Hu Qingyu really take lethal action?

The people who came to Shan City to target me weren’t nobodies. For Hu Qingyu, a mere branch minister of a special department, to go this far, curing his illness certainly wouldn’t have been enough.

Who was the person backing me?

Could it be... True Lord Zhengyang?

It hit me like a revelation. With the overwhelming power of True Lord Zhengyang and his companions, they undoubtedly held high status in China. If they gave the order to protect me, who would dare lay a finger on me?

I looked up at Yin Shengyao and asked, “Why are you so interested in me? Are you trying to seize the pills I possess?”

I let out a cold laugh. “I'm afraid you might take them, only to lose your life in the process.”

Suddenly, a blur of motion, and he was right in front of me. My muscles tensed instantly.

“You really think that just because you have powerful backers, no one dares touch you?” He leaned in close, so close I could feel his breath, and a chill ran down my spine, leaving goosebumps all over my skin.

I tried to walk away, but he grabbed my arm and yanked me back, pinning me down onto the sofa.

I immediately fought back, unleashing all my basic martial arts skills. But I realized I was struggling—despite using every trick I had, it felt like he was just toying with me, like a cat playing with a mouse, dodging effortlessly.

I gritted my teeth—I was still too weak.

Suddenly, he moved. Just as I was about to punch his chest, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me hard, drawing me into his embrace. Then, lifting me by the waist, he pressed me down forcefully onto the sofa.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I demanded angrily.

“Had enough of this tantrum?” he replied coldly.

I shook with fury. “What exactly do you want? I’m absolutely not giving you those pills.”

“Oh, really?” He pinned my hands above my head, then reached into my small pouch and pulled out several jade bottles.

I panicked. “You jerk! Give those back!”

Ignoring me, he pressed me down and opened one of the bottles, sniffing it lightly. His eyes lit up with surprise. “Such a potent scent of medicinal herbs and Spiritual Energy. You’re really carrying such treasures around so casually?”

I glared at him, seething, while he seemed thoroughly amused. “I’ll buy all of these pills,” he said.

“Not for sale!” I snapped.

“Not at all?”

“I’d rather throw them away than sell them to you!” I shouted.

He chuckled. “If you won’t sell them willingly, I’ll just have to force the sale.” Tilting my chin up, he added, “I can offer you a price you can’t refuse.”

“No price would be enough!” I replied firmly.

“Listen to my offer before you reject it,” Yin Shengyao said. “I can…”

Before he could finish, his expression darkened. Wrapping his arm around my waist, he suddenly lifted me and rolled us off the sofa onto the floor.

A muffled “puff-puff-puff!” sound came from a silenced gun, and the sofa we’d just been on was riddled with bullet holes.

Yin Shengyao sneered. “Seems like you’ve made plenty of enemies. Stay down and don’t move.”

He grabbed a box of dice from the table, infused it with Inner Strength, and tossed it out the window.

There was a low groan from outside, followed by the sound of something splashing into water. In one swift motion, he leapt out the window. Outside, the sounds of fighting erupted—gunfire, the whoosh of blades slicing through the air, the sickening noise of knives plunging into flesh. The intensity was terrifying.

In less than three minutes, Yin Shengyao returned. His casual suit now bore streaks of blood, yet he looked as calm as ever. He poured a glass of red wine and handed it to me. “Drink this to calm your nerves.”

I ignored the wine, thinking, am I supposed to be more shaken by the assassins or by you?

“Who were those people outside?” I asked, glancing toward the window, where bloodied bodies lay scattered across the hallway.

“Professional assassins,” Yin Shengyao replied. “Whoever wants the pills and your formula won’t kill you. Think about anyone you’ve recently offended.”

I thought carefully, then gasped. “Could it be… the Jinling Lu Family?”

“The Jinling Lu Family?” Yin Shengyao’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Now, shall we get back to business?”

“There’s nothing more to discuss,” I replied. “Give me back the pills!”

He had hidden the pills somewhere unknown and replied, “One Glazed Reishi Mushroom in exchange for all of these pills.”

My eyes lit up—Glazed Reishi Mushroom!

The Glazed Reishi Mushroom is a basic medicinal herb, commonly found in many Medicine Prescriptions and pill formulas. Thousands of years ago, it was as common as cabbage in China. But as Spiritual Energy gradually dwindled, the Glazed Reishi Mushroom became scarce. Now, it’s nearly impossible to find.

“Make it two,” I countered firmly. “Take it or leave it.”

“Deal,” he replied. “I’ll have the herbs delivered to you tomorrow.”
