Horror Camgirl - Ch. 100: The Young Master of Golden Gu Sect
I shook my head and said, "This is a type of sorcery that can temporarily change one's appearance."
"And Xia Min... my subordinate..."
"I'm afraid there's little hope for him," I replied.
Colonel Zeng's face showed deep sorrow. He turned around and slammed his fist into a nearby glass door. The large bulletproof glass shattered instantly into fine pieces.
I was secretly alarmed—Colonel Zeng was undoubtedly a master of Transformation Strength.
I cut open the Gu Master's stomach, reached inside, and pulled out a worm as thick as a baby's arm.
The worm was nearly a meter long, resembling a snake, but its entire body was white and it kept wriggling.
"Get me a clay pot," I commanded loudly.
Someone quickly brought over a clay pot. I smeared cinnabar on the Mother Worm, threw it into the pot, drew a talisman, and tossed it inside before sealing the opening with paper.
From within the pot came a series of shrill, anguished screams, sounding like a tormented woman, making everyone's skin crawl.
Gradually, the screams faded away. When we opened the pot, the worm was gone, leaving behind only half a pot of pus.
"It's done," I said.
In an instant, the faint, rotten stench that permeated the quarantine zone vanished completely.
Just then, dawn broke, and a sliver of sunlight bathed the entire city of Chun.
Li Feng carefully examined the Gu Master's corpse and said gravely, "This person was the young master of the Golden Gu Sect."
"What?" Everyone was shocked.
The Golden Gu Sect had even sent their young master and caused such a commotion. It seemed they were truly intent on opposing the government.
Colonel Zeng's face was as dark as water. He said, "I'll report this matter. It looks like there will be a joint operation against the Golden Gu Sect."
As he spoke, his gaze fell on me again. "Madam Yuan, we will need your assistance in this operation."
I squinted slightly, not surprised. He continued, "Your medical skills are crucial to us, especially the Nine-ring Detox Pill."
There was something off about the way he said that.
On the way back to the hotel, Hu Qingyu said darkly, "Colonel Zeng's intention is to forcibly requisition your Nine-ring Detox Pill."
I frowned. "Do they have that authority?"
"In special circumstances, they can," Captain Jin explained, "But he doesn't have that authority himself; he needs higher-level approval."
I returned to the hotel with a grim expression and discussed the matter with Huang Luzi. He said, "Don't worry, you can voluntarily offer it to the authorities."
I was taken aback. True Lord Zhengyang also advised, "You need the government's protection right now. Be generous and offer it proactively—it'll show your loyalty to those above."
After thinking it over, it made sense.
"People are greedy," I sighed. "Once I hand it over, they might demand it a second and third time. If I refuse even once, it could lead to resentment."
"Don't worry about that," True Lord Zhengyang assured me. "We have our arrangements."
I realized that my protection was indeed due to the efforts of these senior figures.
I quickly bowed deeply towards the camera. "Thank you, seniors. Without your protection, I would've been dead by now."
True Lord Zhengyang chuckled, "Our cultivation life is quite dull. Watching your live stream keeps us entertained. If anything happened to you, where would we find such amusement?"
He paused and added, "Oh, I have an old friend. Next time you stream, I'll bring him in. He's always generous, unlike that stingy Huang Luzi who tries to exchange a First-Grade Pill recipe for just a few snacks."
I was speechless. Honestly, it didn't matter—how much do a box of snacks cost compared to the priceless value of a pill recipe?
In fact, I wanted to ask Senior Huang Luzi if, besides snacks, I could trade some spicy chicken feet, beef jerky, or chicken wings for a few more pill recipes.
I asked True Lord Zhengyang who I should offer the pill recipe to. He advised me to wait, as someone would come looking for me the next morning.
Early the next day, just as I got up, someone knocked on my door.
"Xiao Lin?" I yawned. "So early, what's going on?"
Xiao Lin said, "Hurry up, there's an important guest."
The visitor was reportedly a big shot from the headquarters of the Special Department in the capital—a Level Five Thunder-type Ability User. He was one of the most talented young Ability Users in China, with immense power and status, said to be one of the top three candidates for the future Commander-in-Chief.
The highest-ranking officer in the Special Department holds the title of Commander-in-Chief and can serve until retirement.
Each generation has three candidates for this position, all of whom are exceptionally gifted.
Years ago, Hu Qingyu was also trained as an heir due to his extraordinary mental strength, but after an injury, he was sidelined and relegated to managing a branch in a place like Shan City.
I was secretly amazed that True Lord Zhengyang could mobilize such a high-ranking figure. His influence and power were indeed formidable.
In the rooftop garden of the hotel, with its charming Southeast Asian ambiance and pool, I arrived at the entrance to find Commissioner Fang and several ministers from the Southwest Division waiting. Hu Qingyu looked uneasy.
Xiao Lin said, "Madam Yuan, please."
I walked into the garden, where a tall man dressed in a silver-white suit stood with his back to me. He was not wearing a jacket, revealing a perfectly fit and upright physique.
"Major Lei," I called softly, "Hello, I'm Yuan Junyao."
The Special Department operates within the military system, and members often address each other using their ranks.
Lei Jie turned around. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but he had a rugged charm. Beneath his shirt and vest, you could see the perfect outlines of his muscles.
"Madam Yuan, I've heard much about you," he said with a smile as he approached to shake my hand. His friendliness, especially coming from someone of his stature, made me feel a bit flattered.
"A 5-year-old Richard Hennessy," he said, picking up a glass of brandy from the table. "Care for a drink?"
"Sure, thank you." I took the glass and sipped. This was probably an expensive drink, but to me, it didn't taste much different than the cheap stuff.
"Madam Yuan, I'm not one for beating around the bush," he said. "Let's get straight to the point—I've heard you have the formula for the Nine-ring Detox Pill and are considering donating it to the country?"
I nodded. "That's correct. The Golden Gu Sect has committed such heinous acts. As a citizen of China, I also want to do my part for the country."
"On behalf of the nation, I thank you for your generosity," Lei Jie said. "If you have any requests, Madam Yuan, just let me know. I'll do my best to fulfill them."
I smiled and said, "The Special Department is willing to protect me, so I’m grateful. This formula is just my way of reciprocating."
Lei Jie’s lips curved into a smile. "Would Madam Yuan be interested in coming to our headquarters? With your abilities, a captain's rank would be a given."
"That won't be necessary. I still have important matters to attend to." I politely declined. He didn’t press further and said, "If you change your mind, Madam Yuan, you're welcome anytime."
He left me a number, telling me to contact him whenever I was in the capital.
We had a pleasant conversation, even shared lunch. By the time we left, the Southwest Division's officers looked at me differently, even Li Feng had become more friendly.
For the upcoming joint operation against the Golden Gu Sect, they would send a specialized Gu Master. I handed over the formula and returned to Shan City, where Tang Mingli had called earlier, saying he'd come to pick me up.
As soon as I got off the plane, I felt a sudden urge to use the restroom. Just as I walked in, a pungent smell of blood mixed with a strange sweetness hit my nose. Frowning, I turned to look toward the last stall.
The door was locked. I knocked and asked, "Hey, are you okay in there?"
There was no response. A sense of dread washed over me. Carefully, I pulled out my Tao Wood dagger from my bag, climbed onto the stall door, and peeked inside.
I gasped. Inside was a man!
He was holding a voluptuous woman in his arms, his face buried in her neck, seemingly doing something intimate.
My cheeks flushed. I was about to apologize and let them continue when I realized something was wrong.
The woman's head was tilted to the side, her eyes wide open—she was clearly dead.
The man must have sensed something. He abruptly lifted his head, his mouth covered in blood, revealing two sharp fangs.
One word flashed in my mind: vampire!
I was so frightened I fell from the door. With a crash, the restroom door was kicked open, and the man lunged at me, pinning me to the ground. His bloodstained mouth opened wide, aiming for my neck.
At that moment, a knife flew through the air, piercing the man's forehead. He collapsed instantly, his body igniting in dark flames and disintegrating into ashes.
A tall figure strode in, swiftly locking the restroom door behind him.
"What were you thinking? Why didn't you run or fight back?" he scolded coldly.
I picked myself up from the ground, feeling conflicted. It was him again.
Yin Shengyao.
I'm starting to suspect he's been stalking me.
"I was... just shocked to see a vampire for the first time. I froze up," I muttered, wondering why I even felt the need to explain myself.
He took a few steps closer, studying me intently. Then, he suddenly reached out, brushing aside the hair on my forehead, and bent down to pick up my fallen hat, gently placing it back on my head.
"Wait," I quickly said, "I can do that myself."
Yin Shengyao looked like he wanted to say something, but I immediately changed the subject. "Why are there vampires in Shan City? Aren't they supposed to be foreign?"
Yin Shengyao gave me a look as if I were clueless. "Is it that hard for foreigners to come to China?"
I felt a twitch at the corner of my mouth. Yin Shengyao continued, "A century ago, many foreigners came to China, and vampires came along with them. At that time, China was in chaos, which made it the perfect hunting ground for vampires. They created a lot of vampires here. After the founding of the country, the Special Department, in cooperation with various martial sects, launched a massive purge and wiped out the vampire headquarters. But over the years, who knows how many have multiplied again."
I frowned. "Why hasn't the Special Department conducted another purge?"
