Horror Camgirl - Ch. 124: Destined to be Enemies
I had only run a couple of steps when I heard a muffled groan from Yin Shengyao.
Is he hurt?
He got injured saving me, attacked by the White Snake. Would it be too heartless of me to just run away alone?
But he is my enemy. He’s the one who caused my brother to become a vegetative state. It’s only fair he pays with his life. I originally planned to take this opportunity to kill him.
I gritted my teeth and kept walking forward, but somehow I couldn't bring myself to take another step.
Damn it, Yuan Junyao, you better not regret this.
At this moment, Yin Shengyao was on top of the White Snake's head, covered in blood. I grabbed the Peachwood Sword, planted my toes on the ground, and lunged at the White Snake.
Attack the snake at its weakest point!
I had calculated where the giant snake's weak spot was. I channeled all my Spiritual Energy into the tip of the sword and, with a sharp sound, pierced through its scaly skin.
I didn't expect its skin to be so tough—it barely went in an inch.
But since it was a vital point, the giant snake twisted in pain, thrashing wildly in the water. I was thrown into the water, hitting a rock, and pain shot through my back.
Yin Shengyao grabbed onto its scales, sliding down from the snake's head to the weak spot, and then delivered a powerful punch right into the wound.
That punch, filled with all the strength of his Transformation Strength phase, went straight through the wound and into the giant snake's body, turning its innards into mush.
The snake let out an eerie cry, then collapsed into the water like a giant pillar, sending up a huge splash.
"Yuan Junyao!" Yin Shengyao jumped down from the snake, coming over to support me. "Let me see your back."
"I'm fine, it's just a flesh wound," I forced a smile.
"Listen to me!" He wouldn't take no for an answer and turned me around to check. My back had been slashed by the rocks, leaving a deep, long gash, though fortunately, it hadn't reached any internal organs.
He breathed a sigh of relief, a smile of reassurance spreading across his face before he collapsed straight onto me.
He had passed out. I reached out to check, and his entire body was covered in blood.
Maybe I should just leave him here. I came back to save him; that's already doing more than enough. I'm not supposed to treat his injuries too, am I?
I gave him a couple of shoves, but he wouldn’t budge.
"Why are you so heavy!" I gritted my teeth, dragging him out of the water. After hesitating for a long time, I finally took out a towel and began cleaning his wounds.
This island is strange. Having another person around gives me a better chance of surviving.
I convinced myself this way as I resigned myself to treating his injuries.
The Seven-Colored Glazed Fish was barely alive. After applying medicine to his wounds, I found a sharp rock to kill and scale the fish.
There was no way to make a fire here, so I sliced the fish into fillets, arranged them on a flat stone, and searched my bag for any salt or other seasonings.
I couldn't find any salt, but I did find a small bottle of Lao Gan Ma sauce. I was just about to start eating when I realized half the fish was already gone.
"Yin Shengyao!" I yelled, "Who told you to eat my fish!"
Yin Shengyao had woken up and was leaning against a rock, savoring a piece of fish. "This fish didn't look like much, but it tastes pretty good."
"Bastard!" I shouted.
He gave me an unapologetic look. "I left you half."
I was so mad my stomach hurt. How could he be this shameless?
"If you don't eat what's left, I'll finish it," he said.
I immediately grabbed the stone plate protectively, like a mother hen guarding her chicks, and ran to the side, eating all the remaining fish piece by piece.
At that moment, Yin Shengyao suddenly frowned, crossed his legs, and began channeling his Inner Force.
Blood surged within his body, his face flushed, and wisps of white vapor rose from his head—signs that he was about to advance.
Lucky for him.
I thought angrily. If I were to strike his skull right now, he wouldn’t have any chance to fight back.
While I was hesitating, my Dantian suddenly started to heat up. I quickly crossed my legs as well, channeling energy to absorb the immense Spiritual Energy from the fish.
I had no idea how much time had passed. Suddenly, I felt a "pop" in my Dantian, like the sound of opening a champagne bottle. Strong Spiritual Power surged out of my Dantian, filling every part of my body.
I advanced!
I had reached the Second Grade Intermediate level!
I was overjoyed, and after stabilizing my cultivation, I opened my eyes to find Yin Shengyao cutting open the White Snake, extracting a snake gallbladder.
He handed the gallbladder to me, saying, "Killing this Exotic Beast would’ve been impossible without your strike. You should take this valuable gallbladder."
I took the gallbladder and examined it, shocked. It was the legendary White Jiao Gall—meaning the White Snake was actually a White Jiao, a Third Grade Exotic Beast!
This was a huge gain. The White Jiao Gall was an important ingredient for crafting the Foundation Pill, and now I had all the materials I needed.
I carefully put it into a Jade Box, but then Yin Shengyao said, "The rest is mine."
I cursed silently: Miser!
He skillfully skinned the snake and cut up its meat. We ended up eating raw snake meat for a few days. Eventually, when my Spiritual Energy recovered, I used Spiritual Power to light a fire, and we finally had some cooked food.
A week later, the Special Department contacted me through the Live Stream Room, saying they had finally found Snow Island and were on their way to us.
Tang Mingli heard that Yin Shengyao and I were stuck together, and he was so anxious he was practically pulling his hair out. Every time I livestreamed an update on my situation, he’d hop on to check in on me. It made me feel like a little bunny, about to be carried off by Yin Shengyao, the big bad wolf.
The snake meat was gone now. It was rich in spiritual power, and I felt myself nearing the advanced level of Second Grade, just waiting for the right moment.
Yin Shengyao and I returned to the cave we’d been in before. Using spiritual energy and inner strength, we hacked through stone and split open the mountain. After working all morning, we finally broke through and saw sunlight again.
I lifted my head, spreading my arms wide, breathing in the fresh sea breeze—it felt amazing.
Yin Shengyao looked at me deeply, his eyes filled with longing and reluctance.
“Time goes by so fast,” he murmured.
I glanced back at him. These past few days with him, I started to feel like he wasn’t the type of person who’d run over my brother on purpose.
Could it be… that there was some kind of misunderstanding?
Maybe the car wasn't his, or maybe he wasn't the one driving at the time?
I took a deep breath, gathering my courage as I walked toward him. “Mr. Yin, you knew who I was from the beginning, didn’t you?” I asked.
Yin Shengyao stayed silent for a moment, then nodded.
I clenched my fists, and asked slowly, word by word, “My brother… you didn’t hit him, did you?”
I was full of hope. After these days of sharing food and shelter, I couldn’t help but think of him as a friend.
I wanted him to tell me the truth, to set me free from my hatred.
Yin Shengyao fell silent again, a flicker of struggle flashing across his eyes before it was replaced by a deep, painful sorrow.
“It was me,” he said.
I could hardly believe my ears. “What… what did you say? Say it again?”
He seemed to have made up his mind, looking me straight in the eyes as he repeated, “I was the one who hit your brother.”
I felt a chill spread through my whole body. Even after all these days in the freezing cold, I had never felt this cold.
My nose burned, tears sliding down my cheeks as I drew my Peachwood Sword and aimed it at his throat.
“I’ll ask you one more time. Think carefully before you answer,” I said through clenched teeth. “Was it really you?”
“Yes.” He nodded, his voice resolute. “Jun Yao, I told you, I’m willing to compensate you. If you send him to Medicine King Valley, I’ll do everything I can to help treat him. I’d give up everything for that.”
“Shut up!” I shouted, tears streaming even harder, though my face was cold as ice. “I’ve told you before, you can’t make up for this! Unless it’s with your life!”
He frowned. “I can’t die. I have responsibilities to fulfill.”
I let out a cold laugh. “If I just push this sword forward a little, everything will end.”
Yin Shengyao grabbed my sword, saying, “If you try to kill me, I’ll fight back with everything I have. You can’t kill me.”
“That’s just for now!” I shouted. “Either kill me now, or if you let me go, I swear I’ll come back for you one day!”
“Alright.” He said, “I’ll be waiting.”
I closed my eyes, withdrew my Peachwood Sword, and turned away, not looking back.
He thought he could fool me, but I wasn’t as dumb as he believed.
My brother definitely wasn’t hit by him, but the person who did must be someone very close to him—someone close enough that he’d take the blame for this despicable crime.
Was it his parents? A sister? A brother?
Whoever it was, he wouldn't let me take revenge, so I’d have to defeat him first.
