Horror Camgirl - Ch. 123: Hot Spring Bath
Outside, it was a frozen, snowy world. After eating the rabbit and the Elixir Pill, I regained some Spiritual Energy, which helped fend off the cold.
I trudged through the snow, sinking with each step, until I finally found a clean cave. It looked very deep, but I wasn't in the mood to explore it, so I started a fire near the entrance to wait for the rescue team.
Not long after, I suddenly heard a sound from deep inside the cave. I quickly drew my Peachwood Sword, my face full of vigilance.
The noise came closer and closer until, to my surprise, it turned out to be a rat—a massive rat, as big as a rabbit, with blood-red eyes. It opened its mouth and let out a shrill squeal, its mouth full of sharp teeth.
The rat leaped at me, pushing off with its back legs. I channeled Spiritual Energy into my Peachwood Sword and sliced its head off in one swift strike.
Once again, the sound of footsteps echoed from deep within the cave—soft, rustling, countless footsteps—that made my scalp tingle.
In the darkness, a giant rat's head appeared, then a second, a third, and eventually countless more. Their eyes glowed red, filled with Yin Qi, staring at me eerily.
My face turned pale. I carefully took two steps back, and suddenly an arm wrapped around my waist. I looked up in shock. "Yin Shengyao?"
Yin Shengyao, his face calm, said, "They're all drawn here by the scent of blood on you. Come on, let's get out of here!"
With that, he hoisted me over his shoulder and turned to run.
He was incredibly fast, gliding over the snow without leaving a single footprint. The swarm of rats was left far behind, and all I could hear was the deafening sound of the wind.
The wind whipped painfully against my face.
We returned to the previous cave, where he gently set me down before taking out a small jar of medicine. He sprinkled its powder at the cave entrance, his face tense. "The scent of your blood is strange; it easily attracts Exotic Beasts. From now on, you can't leave this cave."
I frowned. "It's not the first time I've bled. Why haven't I attracted Exotic Beasts before?"
"Where would there be Exotic Beasts in the city?" Yin Shengyao responded. "Has anyone ever mentioned you smell really nice?"
I paused, a little startled. Tang Mingli often said I smelled good.
"There's something odd about your body..." He looked me up and down. "It's that scent. It makes me... lose a bit of control."
Hearing this, I immediately shrank back. He quickly said, "Don't worry, I have self-control. I won't do anything to you."
I wiped sweat from my forehead, not buying it. What, does my blood have the effect of an aphrodisiac? What nonsense.
"Did you eat anything special when you were a kid?" he asked.
I frowned. "I grew up in the countryside. I ate wild fruits from the mountains, whether I recognized them or not. I have no idea if I ate anything strange, but I didn't die from it."
He looked speechless.
But I did remember one thing. When I was very young, well-dressed people would often visit our home, asking to see my grandmother. It seemed they were asking for some kind of medicine.
Whenever that happened, my grandmother would give me a cup of tea before bedtime. After drinking it, I would sleep very deeply, and when I woke up the next day, there would always be a wound in a hidden place on my body.
A chill ran through me. Was my blood that so-called "medicine"?
My palms were sweating from anxiety. I had no idea what kind of medicine it was, but I couldn't let Yin Shengyao find out. If he decided to imprison me and draw my blood endlessly, I'd rather die.
"No matter what, stay inside the cave for the next few days," he said. "We'll wait until the rescue team arrives."
Time flowed like water, and three days passed without a word from the rescue team. I even checked with the Live Stream Room. According to the comments, the rescue team had made multiple attempts but had yet to find Snow Island, always coming back empty-handed.
On the third night, I suddenly woke up from a dream. "Is that an earthquake?" I blurted out.
The ground shook violently, the earth and mountains trembled, and massive rocks fell down. Yin Shengyao reached out to grab me. "Hurry, we need to go!"
We hadn't made it to the cave entrance before it was blocked by a huge boulder. I quickly said, "This way!"
The earthquake had collapsed part of the cave wall, revealing a deep tunnel. We had no choice but to rush deeper inside. Just as we ran in, the entire entrance was sealed by falling rocks.
The shaking finally stopped after a while. I raised my arm and snapped my fingers. A flame ignited in the air, illuminating the cavern.
It was hot inside the cave. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and took off my heavy coat. Suddenly, I felt a faint wisp of Spiritual Energy coming from deep within the tunnel.
Could there be a Spiritual Plant in there?
"Stay behind me," Yin Shengyao said. "Don't wander off. Be careful."
We proceeded cautiously. I had no idea how far we had gone when the Spiritual Energy grew stronger, so much so that even Yin Shengyao noticed it. Eventually, we squeezed through a narrow passageway, and the space opened up before us.
A hot spring! Deep within the cave, there was a large hot spring!
Steam was rising from the water, and I felt a bit tempted. I hadn't bathed in days; I felt sticky and gross, and I could even smell my own sweat.
Yin Shengyao noticed what I was thinking and said, "Let's both go down and wash up."
My face changed slightly, and he added, "You can wash behind those rocks over there, and I'll stay outside. If anything happens, just call me."
I nodded, slipped behind the rocks, undressed, and sank into the water.
The warm water wrapped around my body, making me relax, my eyes narrowing in comfort.
I listened carefully—he seemed to be getting into the water as well.
"Is it safe in there?" Yin Shengyao called from outside.
"It's safe," I nodded. There was no more sound from his side.
I didn't know how much time had passed, but I slowly sank deeper into the water, releasing my Divine Sense.
The thick Spiritual Energy seemed to be coming from beneath the warmth of the water.
Something soft brushed against my ankle. I used my Divine Sense to investigate, and my heart suddenly skipped a beat.
A... fish?
I nearly gasped but remembered I was underwater and immediately covered my mouth and nose.
It was a Seven-Colored Glazed Fish!
The Seven-Colored Glazed Fish is an incredibly rare ancient spiritual fish, said to grant immortality if consumed.
Becoming immortal was, of course, impossible, but it was known to greatly enhance a cultivator's abilities. According to Huang Luzi's Jade Slip, there was a record from ancient times of a First Grade cultivator accidentally consuming a Seven-Colored Glazed Fish and immediately ascending to the Second Grade.
I thought my luck had run out, but it seemed things were turning in my favor.
I reached out to catch the fish when suddenly a hand grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the water.
I stared at Yin Shengyao in shock, kicking and punching him furiously. "What are you doing? Let go of me!"
His arm was like an iron vice, locking me in place—I couldn’t break free at all.
"So you were hiding something from me," he said, his voice cold. He held me tightly with one arm while plunging the other into the water, pulling out the Seven-Colored Glazed Fish.
"What is this?" he demanded.
I glared at him but said nothing.
"Doesn't matter if you don’t say anything," he said calmly.
With that, he squeezed his hand, and it looked like he was about to crush the Seven-Colored Glazed Fish.
"Stop!" I shouted in distress. His grip was so strong that if he kept squeezing, the fish would be crushed to pieces, a bloody mess.
The worst part was that the innards of the Glazed Fish were poisonous. If they mixed with the flesh, it would be ruined for consumption.
"Have you decided how to explain things to me?" he asked, a teasing smile playing on his lips.
Furious, I punched his chest hard. "Let go of me first!"
He released his hold, and I immediately backed away, putting as much distance between us as possible.
He had come straight into the water—without any clothes on. My face flushed with anger. "Go put on some clothes!"
Yin Shengyao took the Seven-Colored Glazed Fish and returned to where the rocks were. I quickly climbed out of the water and reached out to grab my clothes. Suddenly, there was a loud splash. I turned around and saw a huge white snake burst out of the water, lunging at my head.
The snake was thicker than I was, and its massive fangs glistened with a cold, deadly light.
Before I could react, Yin Shengyao had already tackled the giant snake. The two fought fiercely in the water, man against serpent.
If there was ever a time to escape, it was now.
I hastily put on my clothes, picked up the Seven-Colored Glazed Fish, and ran deeper into the cave.
