Horror Camgirl - Ch. 153: Yin Shengyao Goes on a Killing Spree

I thought of my late grandmother, and a wave of melancholy washed over me.

Once we entered the mountains, I realized he wasn't exaggerating. He knew the terrain intimately, even down to where bears were likely to appear.

Suddenly, I felt something strange. I looked around, but all I saw were trees—there wasn't another soul in sight.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I feel like something's off," I replied, releasing my Divine Sense to scan the surroundings. I didn't find anything.

Was I just overly anxious?

Yin Shengyao glanced around and said, "No matter what, stay alert."

We rented a car and drove along the mountain road, winding further and further in. After almost four hours, I finally called out, "Here we are."

The SUV came to a sudden stop. I pointed ahead to an old, abandoned cabin. "Little Ao said their car broke down somewhere near that cabin."

We got out of the car. The forest was blanketed in snow, with every tree covered by thick layers that looked like cozy quilts.

"As Little Ao said, after the car broke down, they couldn't get a signal on their phones. They waited here for a long time, growing hungry and thirsty, until his father finally got out to look for food," I said, looking around before glancing down at the compass in my hand. "When his father left the car, the sun was already setting. He went in the direction of the sun, so he must've gone west. This way."

I strode into the forest, the snow deep beneath my feet. We moved quickly through the woods. Yin Shengyao asked, "How long did that boy say his father was gone?"

"Less than an hour."

"Walking through the snow for an hour, he couldn't have gone more than a couple of miles. It must be somewhere around here." He stopped walking.

I said, "The Black Spider Fruit could attract wild animals. We need to be cautious."

He nodded. We searched the area for a while when, once again, I felt something strange. I quickly lifted my head to look around.

That feeling intensified—the unsettling sensation of being watched by a ferocious beast, a chill spreading through my body.

At that moment, I smelled a delightful, creamy fragrance. My heart leapt with joy. I parted a cluster of branches in front of me to reveal a small tree, about a meter tall.

The tree looked somewhat like a peach tree, though it was long past the season for fruit. Yet, it was full of berries, deep red and shiny, with an alluring creamy scent that made it tempting to pluck one and have a taste.

The Black Spider Fruit—it really was the Black Spider Fruit!

I quickly pulled out a Jade Box I'd prepared beforehand, carefully picking enough to fill it to the brim. As I was putting the box in my bag, I suddenly heard rustling in the grass.

For some reason, my scalp tingled. I slowly turned my head and saw a pair of glowing green eyes staring at me from the underbrush.

A wolf…?

No, this wasn't right. This feeling was too cold, too menacing. It wasn't a wolf—not any ordinary wild animal I knew.

The beast slowly emerged from the underbrush, and I gasped. It looked like a wolf, but it was as big as a calf. Its fur was sleek and glossy, and its mouth, with razor-sharp teeth, gaped open.

What kind of monster was this? How could it be so enormous?

It stared at me with a glint of greed in its eyes, taking a slow step forward. Drool dripped from its mouth, and the snow where it landed quickly melted away.

Poison!

Its saliva was toxic!

Could it be some kind of mutated Exotic Beast?

Suddenly, a hand reached from behind me and gripped my shoulder. I turned my head to see it was Yin Shengyao.

He held a bunch of red leaves in his hand and tossed them toward the massive wolf. The wolf sniffed them, then used its tongue to scoop the leaves into its mouth.

"This is a Devouring Sky Wolf," Yin Shengyao whispered. "It's a mutated kind of wolf. Its fangs and claws are highly venomous. There used to be a lot of them, and many Herb Diggers died from their bites. Later, people discovered that the leaves of this Fiery Grass could calm them down. Unless startled, it won't attack once it eats these."

After devouring the Fiery Grass, the Devouring Sky Wolf seemed to relax, its body going limp as it lazily wagged its tail and turned, as if to leave.

Just then, a gunshot rang out, and a bullet struck the ground in front of the Devouring Sky Wolf.

The Devouring Sky Wolf was suddenly startled and reared up, letting out a roar. Its eyes instantly turned blood red, and its appearance became even more ferocious. Yin Shengyao muttered under his breath, "This isn't good." He wrapped his arm around my waist and started running with me.

The Devouring Sky Wolf turned its head, opened its massive jaws, and lunged towards us fiercely. Yin Shengyao moved incredibly fast, leaping up onto a large tree in just a few steps. He set me on a branch before turning back to face the wolf below, striking downwards with his palm.

The strike came down like a thousand-pound boulder, crashing directly onto the wolf's head. The Devouring Sky Wolf was slammed into the snow, and the thick layer of snow was compressed into a massive palm print.

The Devouring Sky Wolf spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, its limbs twitched slightly, and then it gradually went still. Yin Shengyao's face showed a hint of pity, and he said quietly, "Judging by its condition, it looks like it just gave birth. I really didn’t want to kill it—if it dies, those cubs won't make it through the winter."

I was a little surprised, not expecting him to have such a gentle side, caring even about an Exotic Beast.

Yin Shengyao added, "There is a natural law of survival in these mountains. I wouldn't kill a beast from the wild unless it was absolutely necessary."

I looked at his profile. Under the snowy reflection, his features seemed to be covered by a faint white glow. For some reason, I found him a lot more pleasing to the eye.

Suddenly, a fierce flame of anger ignited in his eyes. In an instant, he transformed from an otherworldly figure to a devil from the depths of hell. He looked towards a certain spot in the forest and said, "Stay here. I’m going to take care of those rats."

With that, he leaped into the woods.

The mountains were full of trees, and the snowy glare made my eyes ache. I could only scan the forest using my Divine Sense and found that several assassins were hiding there. These assassins were all professionals, and all of them were foreigners—likely mercenaries, each with impressive skills. One of them was even a sniper, hidden very well.

But Yin Shengyao managed to locate each assassin with pinpoint accuracy, dealing with them one by one at lightning speed.

At this moment, Yin Shengyao was like a terrifying killing machine, merciless in his attacks, efficient and swift. The first two assassins didn’t even have time to react before they were dead. The others immediately began shooting, and the sound of gunfire echoed through the forest.

Yin Shengyao dashed across the snow, his steps as light as the wind. His movement seemed almost magical, as if it were some kind of martial art technique, covering hundreds of meters in the blink of an eye.

He was too fast for them to hit. In an instant, he was already in front of the third assassin, who was in the middle of reloading. Before the assassin could insert the clip into his gun, Yin Shengyao delivered a swift chop to his throat, breaking his windpipe.

The assassin hadn't even fallen before Yin Shengyao was already rushing towards the fourth one.

The fourth assassin, wearing goggles, had a cold smile at the corner of his mouth. As Yin Shengyao approached, he suddenly raised his gun and whispered, "It's over."

He pulled the trigger.

My heart leapt into my throat.

I... I actually felt worried for him!

However, to my shock, just as the bullet was about to hit him, Yin Shengyao suddenly disappeared.

The assassin froze.

He was stunned for only a second or two, but in a fight, a second or two could mean life or death.

Yin Shengyao reappeared behind him, grabbed his head, and twisted forcefully.

Crack. The neck snapped.

The fourth assassin, dead.

Seeing things go south, the fifth assassin turned and ran, but there was no way his speed could match Yin Shengyao's. After just a few steps, Yin Shengyao, like a swift gust of wind, had already caught up to him, plunging a knife through his chest.

In less than three minutes, all five assassins were dead.

At that moment, I finally understood the true meaning of the phrase, "In all martial arts, speed breaks through everything."

Yin Shengyao’s lightfoot technique was incredibly refined. Martial arts techniques are classified into Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow levels, and this particular technique was at least at the Black level!

Yin Changsheng, an elder, had once mentioned to me during casual conversation that most human martial arts techniques are incomplete. Even if complete ones are found, they are often of a low level and can't even be ranked. Techniques of the Yellow level are considered family treasures, while Black level techniques are treasures coveted by many across the world.
